Abstract:
Cycle storage and locking system for locking plural cycles in at least one storage station. The system includes plural locking and storage points each structured and arranged to lock one of the cycles at the at least one storage station. Each of the plural locking and storage points comprises two arms and a space arranged therebetween sized and configured to receive therein a front wheel of one of the cycles. A locking arrangement is structured and arranged to lock one of the cycles to one of the plural locking and storage points. The locking arrangement includes two laterally movable lateral locking projections arranged on the one of the cycles and two locking recesses arranged on the one of the plural locking and storage points.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a spoked wheel that includes a peripheral rim, a central hub, and individual connecting spokes between the rim and the hub, the spokes being taut. The wheel includes an arrangement for adjusting the tension of at least some of the spokes, and the spokes are taut with an initial tension Ti corresponding to a normal tension value Tn which is reduced by a value corresponding to a compression force R that can be supported by each spoke. For a rear wheel, the spokes supporting the compression forces are those arranged on the side opposite freewheel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cycle storage and locking system, which includes a plurality of cycles (1) and at least one storage station including a plurality of storage and locking points, while the system includes means for locking each one of the cycles to one of the storage and locking points, each one of the storage points being made up of two arms, forming between them a space in which the front wheel of the cycle is intended to be inserted when positioning the cycle, while the means for locking each one at the cycles are made up of two laterally mobile side projections (6a, 6b) engaging with two locking recesses (7a, 7b), characterised in that the cycle includes the two mobile locking projections and the storage point includes the two concave locking recesses (7a, 7b).
Abstract:
A transmission device for a cycle, such as a bicycle, which includes a bottom bracket fixed relative to the remainder of the cycle frame. The device includes a cylindrical main body centered about a first axis and a secondary body centered about a second axis, the second axis being parallel to, but not merged with, the first axis; a crankset rotationally mounted along the first axis relative to the main body and including a pair of cranks, a first circular toothed element and a second circular toothed element, both being centered on the first axis; a chainwheel rotationally mounted along the second axis relative to the secondary body and including a third circular toothed element and a fourth circular toothed element, both being centered on the second axis; the first and third toothed elements and the second and fourth toothed elements constituting a first gear train and a second gear train, respectively; a disengageable blocking device provided to block, selectively, the rotation of the first toothed element relative to the crankset or the rotation of the third toothed element relative to the chainwheel, on the one hand, and the rotation of the second toothed element relative to the crankset or the rotation of the fourth toothed element relative to the chainwheel, on the other hand.
Abstract:
A wheel including a peripheral rim, a central hub, and spokes connecting extending and tensioned between the rim and the hub, as well as a method for manufacturing such a wheel. The method includes distributing the spokes in two groups, a first group of spokes lacking a tensioning device, and a second group of spokes having a tensioning device; assembling the spokes to the rim and to the hub, and then adjusting the tension of the spokes with tensioning devices of the second group of spokes.
Abstract:
The invention encompasses a device for adjusting the trail of a cycle front wheel assembly including a hub for a wheel, the hub being adapted to receive an arrangement for tightening the wheel on a fork of the cycle and an interposed mechanism for adjusting the position of the fork center distance with respect to the transverse axis of the hub. The adjustment mechanism axially extends the hub and is configured and arranged to engage with a portion of the cycle fork so as to provide fork support as well as a predetermined setting of the position of the hub transverse axis with respect to the fork center distance. The invention also encompasses a wheel having such adjustment device, as well as a method of adjusting the trail.
Abstract:
A device for mounting a wheel of a bicycle on a frame, including: an inner hub rotatably mounted in a portion of the frame, an outer hub forming a central zone of the wheel, a quick-tightening mechanism that includes a male portion projecting from a first of the inner and outer hubs, a female portion provided in a second of the hubs, axial abutments for retaining the outer hub supported against the inner hub, and a mechanism for positioning the axial abutments, the positioning mechanism not being active upon completion of the tightening of the wheel. The quick-tightening mechanism is equipped with a lever that is pivoted by the operator to provide the necessary force for the axial tightening of the outer hub of the wheel against the inner hub. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the axial abutments include a plurality of balls, and the mechanism for positioning the axial abutments include ramps on which the balls roll.
Abstract:
A hub for cycle wheel including a shaft, a hub body rotatably mounted around the shaft. The hub body has, at least at one of its ends, merlons that are provided for fastening the spokes. Each of the merlons has a radial housing that opens out at its top, as well as two slots, each of the slots extending through the wall thickness between the radial housing and a distinct frontal surface of the merlon. The invention also relates to a cycle wheel having such a hub.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a rim, spokes and a complete wheel, especially a cycle wheel, including such a rim and such spokes. The rim has a plurality of through holes demarcated by a chimney obtained by backflow. A threaded insert is housed in these openings. The end of the spoke includes a joining piece affixedly connected to the end of the spoke, a tension adjusting screw mounted to rotate freely on this side of the joining piece, and extended by a coupling sleeve with a tightening tool. The joining piece is provided to slide within the insert, and the screw is tightened within the joining piece.
Abstract:
Gear shifting device for a cycle having a chain and pinion transmission is provided, which includes a mobile gear shift assembly adapted to laterally displace the chain for enabling passage from one gear to another gear; transformation elements for transforming rotation of at least one pivoting gear into a lateral displacement of the mobile gear shift assembly; and a control mechanism for controlling lateral displacement of the mobile gear shift assembly. Further, the gear shifting device can include an indexing mechanism to further ensure exact positioning of the gears.
