摘要: An image sensor for capturing a color image is disclosed having a two-dimensional array having first and second groups of pixels wherein pixels from the first group of pixels have narrower spectral photoresponses than pixels from the second group of pixels and wherein the first group of pixels has individual pixels that have spectral photoresponses that correspond to a set of at least two colors. Further, the placement of the first and second groups of pixels defines a pattern that has a minimal repeating unit including at least twelve pixels. The minimal repeating unit has a plurality of cells wherein each cell has at least two pixels representing a specific color selected from the first group of pixels and a plurality of pixels selected from the second group of pixels arranged to permit the reproduction of a captured color image under different lighting conditions.

摘要: A telescope comprises a telescope tube and a mount for supporting the telescope tube for altitude and azimuth positioning. The mount comprises an azimuth assembly including vertical bearing holders in spaced parallel relation and an altitude assembly including interconnected vertical bearings rotatably supported on tracks of the bearing holders. The bearings have lips disposed over outer surfaces of the bearing holders, respectively, and a frictional adjustment mechanism of the azimuth assembly includes an extension element extendable into frictional contact with one of the lips to maintain proper tracking of the bearings on the tracks of the bearing holders. A clamp assembly disposed between the bearings comprises a plurality of clamp members having apertures, respectively, through which the telescope tube extends. The clamp members are pivotal between open and closed positions via operation of a single operating member.

摘要: In a scanner for computed tomography an X-ray source and a multiple cell X-ray detector are mounted on a rotatable support on opposite sides of the rotational axis for orbiting about a body to thereby scan it with a diverging X-ray beam. The source and detector are each on a carriage which enables driving them jointly toward or away from the axis of rotation while the body stays fixed so that regardless of the width of the body portion its boundaries will be substantially tangent to the boundary rays of the beam and after penetrating the body the beam and the X-ray image which it entrains will always cover the entire length of the detector and use all of its cells.

摘要: 935,570. Continuous lautering of grains and wort. JOHN LABATT Ltd. Aug. 1, 1961 [Dec. 30, 1960], No. 27934/61. Class 14 (2). In continuous lautering, a mixture of grains and wort from the mashing operation in a brewing process is fed on to the upper flight 13 of a moving continuous perforate belt 12 at a point adjacent one end of the upper flight and is removed from the belt in the region of the other end, the speed of the belt and the rate of feed of mash are regulated to form a filtering bed 20 of grains that is sprayed with water to sparge out residual sugar, and the clear wort passing downwardly through the grains and the upper flight of the belt is collected. The wort is collected successively in box 21 from which it is recycled to the bed by a pump 23, and boxes 24, 25 from which it is pumped by vacuum pumps 29 and 30, respectively, to a collection tank 28. The bed, which may have a uniform depth of between one inch and twelve inches, is sprayed with fresh water from one or more bars 32; alternatively, the wort from one box may be employed to wash the part of the bed passing over the preceding box, so that fresh water would only be added above the box at the discharge end of the upper flight. The belt may be composed of a filter cloth or wire mesh having perforations of from 0.2 to 3.0 mm. The lower flight of the belt is washed with water from bars 33, 34; the spent grains may be repulped in fresh water and filtered on a second lautering unit.

摘要: An image sensor includes an array of pixels used in capturing images. First dark floor values are captured at a first time from substantially all of the pixels in the array. Contemporary dark floor values are captured at a second time from substantially all of the pixels in the array, where the second time is subsequent to the first time. The first and contemporary dark floor values are then used to compute adjusted dark floor values. The adjusted dark floor values are used when processing one or more captured images.
