    摘要: The present invention provides fluid compositions for use in the planarization of a substrate surface. Fluid compositions include a planarization slurry having an abrasive component and a chemically interactive component and an effective amount of at least one crown ether that is capable of isolating at least one charged ion contaminant specie in the planarization slurry. Also included are fluid compositions that are pre-treated with an effective amount of at least one crown ether to remove one or more charged ion contaminants in the fluid composition utilized in a planarization process. Methods of using the fluid compositions are also provided.

    摘要: This invention is a means for storing kinetic energy for later use as a driving force. This is accomplished through the use of an elastomeric member that can be multi-strand if desired, trained over a plurality of offset pulleys mounted on a pair of parallely disposed support shafts. One end of the elastomeric member is tethered and the other end is connected to a low stretch member which is trained onto a take-up reel. This reel through a remotely controlled clutch is connected to a gear box that is in turn connected to a drive source such as ground engaging wheels. A separate power source can also be connected to the gear box such as an engine. A control means such as a microprocessor can be used in controlling the storage of kinetic energy by winding the low stretch member onto the take-up reel to linearly stretch the elastromeric member and to release the stored energy by allowing the elastomeric member to cause the low stretch member to unwind from the take-up reel.

    摘要: An interactive television system where interactive information is inserted in the vertical blanking interval of a standard television signal. The signal is received and decoded by a settop decoder which sends the decoded signal via an infrared signal to a handheld device. The viewer using the handheld device can interact with a game, sports, or educational event or other presentation on the television. The system includes a proprietary high level command language and programmer (PIU) tables which are maintained in the memory of the handheld device. The PIU tables store the transactions of the various events presented on the television. The transactions are sent from the insertion system to the decoder throughout the broadcast of the television program. Thus, for a sports event with interleaved commercials, one or more of the PIU tables would be used to store a collection of transactions used for the main event and one or more additional PIU tables are used for storing transactions for each of the interleaved commercials. This system allows a viewer to enter and exit any event at any time without having to wait for information to be downloaded and without losing any scores. Further, the system allows the user to change from event to event such as, for example, by tuning to different stations and be able to immediately interact and have responses scored and stored.

    摘要: A system for measuring power in an electrical distribution circuit having at least three wires includes a Hall-effect generator directly coupled to one of the live wires of the circuit and current transformers coupled to the other live wires of the circuit. The output of each current transformer is magnetically linked to the Hall-effect generator. The excitation current for the Hall-effect generator is derived from the line potential between the live wires. The Hall-effect generator acts to produce an output whose magnitude is directly proportional to the product of the vector sums of the currents flowing in the live wires and the potential between the live wires. This power indicative output may be accumulated to produce an indication of energy consumed by a load connected to the live wires. A high frequency A.C. bias is applied to the Hall generator in order to linearize the output of the generator.
