摘要: A hydraulic molding press comprising a main cylinder in which a main ram is mounted for forward and reverse movement and the main ram has a booster cylinder therein into which a hollow stationary booster ram extends. A control valve comprising a valve housing is provided at the end of the main cylinder and the booster ram extends therethrough. The valve housing includes a removable portion called a booster ram cap which threads onto and supports the end of the booster ram. The booster ram cap is detachably secured to the valve housing and the latter is detachably secured to the end of the main cylinder by four studs. A prefill tank connects to the valve housing for supplying prefill fluid to the main cylinder as the main ram is moved rapidly forward by booster fluid supplied through the booster ram from a port in the booster cap. A prefill valve piston slideably mounted in the valve housing is movable to close off prefill fluid flow from the prefill tank. The piston has a central opening through which the booster ram extends. The opening in the piston also serves as a fluid passage for supplying high pressure fluid to the main ram after the piston is moved forward to closed position. Fluid to this passage is supplied through a pair of prefill chambers in the booster ram cap which opens when the prefill pins are moved forward by pilot pressure to close the prefill valve piston. The prefill valve piston is controlled by a two-position remotely operated valve. The prefill pins are continually under pilot pressure. Forward and reverse movement of the main ram is controlled by a three-position remotely operated valve. To effect reverse movement of main ram, the two-position valve operates to decompress the high pressure fluid behind the main ram and opens the prefill valve piston to allow free fluid flow to the prefill tank. Then the three-position valve operates to move the main piston in reverse.

摘要: A portable, horizontal earth boring machine which employs two or more hydraulic motors to rotate and advance an auger in an earth boring operation in which the motors are supplied with hydraulic fluid from a single variable displacement pump located remotely from the earth boring machine. The pump is controlled to respond to the loads imposed on the motors to limit the horsepower output of the pump up to a predetermined maximum after which the horsepower is maintained constant until a maximum working load is achieved at the motors. The control is so arranged that demands made by an operator of the earth boring machine in excess of the limits of the pump are negated making possible the selection of an engine to drive the pump of sufficient capacity to meet but not greatly exceed the power requirements of the pump.

摘要: A high-speed shutoff and dump valve operable in response to a change in input parameters thereto to shut off a flow of hydraulic fluid under pressure therethrough, having regenerative shutoff actuation and providing a fluid under pressure out, dump function on actuation. In a first modification of the valve, fluid under pressure out, is shorted to, fluid return, on actuation of the valve, while in a second modification, fluid under pressure out, and fluid return are sealed on actuation of the valve. In application, the high-speed shutoff and dump valve may be used before or after an electrohydraulic servo valve in an electrohydraulic system to control the flow of fluid through the servo valve in accordance with the presence or absence of an electrical feedback signal to the servo valve.

摘要: A vehicle is provided with a material discharge apparatus operated by an auxiliary fluid driven motor and an adjustable control valve for the fluid motor. A control system for adjusting the valve includes an electric motor which is connected to an improved electric circuit for regulating the operation of the motor in accordance with vehicle speed and for automatically stopping the motor to shut off the discharge of material from the vehicle when the vehicle is stopped. The control circuit includes a potentiometer which is driven by the control motor to balance the control circuit. A gear cluster is arranged to drivingly connect the control motor with both the valve and the potentiometer. The gear cluster is connected to a manual control knob for manually shifting the gear cluster to a first override position to disengage the control motor from the valve, while maintaining the control knob in driving connection with the potentiometer and the valve. In this position the control knob is operable to manually adjust the valve independently of the control motor. The gear cluster may be manually shifted to a second override position to provide a coupling solely between the control knob and the valve to enable the valve and the control circuit to be synchronized. The valve includes a pair of slotted spools, one spool being rotatable to progressively bring the spool slots into passage-defining alignment. The slot of at least one of the spools has an enlargement at one end for enabling a greater-than-normal rate of fluid supply to the fluid motor when the valve is in an initially-open position.

摘要: A self-propelled soil stabilizer machine employs a heavy-duty single horizontal rotor for pulverizing and mixing soil it passes over. The rotor is driven by hydraulic motors which are mounted at the rotor ends and operated by a hydraulic pump (engine driven) which is hydraulically coupled to a hydraulic traction pump (also engine driven) which propels the machine. Overloads on the rotor system are automatically sensed by a closed-loop hydrostatic system and result in a decrease in the speed of machine travel until the load on the rotor diminishes. A hydraulic rotary servo-valve and mechanical feed back system automatically controls the rotor to maintain it at a preset depth and provides a visual read-out of depth.

摘要: A forage cutter includes a housing having a pair of end walls, a forward inlet for receiving forage material and a rearward outlet for discharging forage material. A rotary cylinder shaft is journaled for rotation in the end walls, and a rotary cylindrical cutter having a plurality of cutting knives is mounted on the shaft for rotation about its longitudinal axis. The cutting knives are movable in a 360* cylindrical cutting path having a 0* reference on a horizontal plane extending radially from the axis of the cutter through the forward inlet. A recutter having a single recutter blade disposed at the outlet of the housing is positioned in coacting shearing relation with the cutting knives. The recutter blade is horizontally positioned between about 120* to 150* from the horizontal plane in the direction of the cylindrical cutting path.

摘要: A fluidic feedback servo valve including a metering stage having a metering spool therein, a pilot stage including downstream opposed control nozzles therein for controlling the pressure at the opposite ends of the metering spool and an electromechanical transducer for varying the position of a target between the control nozzles, a pair of feedback nozzles positioned upstream of the ends of the metering spool in the pilot stage and conical feedback targets having different diameters on the opposite ends of the metering spool operably associated with the feedback nozzles for differentially varying orifices provided by the feedback nozzles in accordance with the axial position of the metering spool, the smaller diameter conical feedback target having a flat side and a transverse slot thereacross for receiving a locating pin, which pin is off-center with respect to the metering spool to prevent undesired rotation of the metering spool, and which pin when removed permits rotation of the metering spool to expose the flat side of the smaller diameter feedback target to the corresponding metering nozzle to permit withdrawal of the spool from the valve without disturbing the feedback nozzles.

摘要: A plastic container part conveyor mechanism for use in conjunction with a printing machine which decorates the annular side walls of container parts. The conveyor mechanism is used to move parts leaving the printing machine past a series of dryers for drying the ink on the container parts prior to moving them to a container assembly machine wherein the parts are friction welded together to form containers. The mechanism includes a pair of oppositely directed conveyor sections, providing an interrupted path of travel, and a generally horizontally disposed rotary disc or turntable having openings communicating with a source of vacuum for lifting the parts off one conveyor section and transferring them to the oter conveyor section. A similar vertically disposed rotatably mounted section disc can be used to supply the container parts to the upstream conveyor section.

摘要: A method and apparatus for boring a hole in the earth utilizing a rotary auger extending through a casing member which guides the lateral cutting direction of the auger as it rotates. During auger advancement through the earth, the boring machine applies axial thrust to the casing member for advancing it through the bored hole directly behind the auger. The casing member is adapted to bend longitudinally whenever the hole deviates from a straight path. The casing member includes circumferentially spaced rods mounted longitudinally within the casing and associated sensor devices for detecting the degree and direction of casing member bending. Movable shoes are mounted adjacent to the exterior of the casing member and are actuated by a control device responsive to signals received from the sensor devices to guide the casing member and auger back toward the desired path.
