The apparatus for detecting the leakage current is a leakage current detector in a DC distribution system of the TN grounding manner and includes a leakage current detecting unit configured to detect a current flow between a DC power unit and a load to detect whether the leakage current is generated and a level of the leakage current and a leakage current determining unit configured to determine that the cause of the leakage current is either an electric shock to a human or a facility ground fault according to a rate of hourly change in the level of the leakage current detected in the leakage current detecting unit.
