摘要: To provide a negative pressure type booster device which has a high responsiveness even when a brake pedal is stepped on strongly and which is simplified and compact in construction. To this end, a passage 45 communicating directly with the atmosphere is provided between the internal surface of a sliding cylindrical portion 8b of a valve piston 8 and the external surface of a silencer 27, and the atmospheric air is enabled to be admitted from the passage 45 to a variable pressure chamber 6 directly without passing through the silencer 27 when an input member is advanced beyond a predetermined distance relative to the valve piston.

摘要: In a vacuum type brake booster, the reaction of output transmitted from an output shaft to a reaction member is transmitted to a valve body, a plunger, and a stepped pin. A valve mechanism, which is assembled to an axial hole of the valve body, includes an atmospheric valve seat which advances and retreats together with the plunger, a vacuum valve seat assembled to the valve body to advance and retreat, and a valve member having an atmospheric valve portion which forms an atmospheric valve in cooperation with the atmospheric valve seat and a vacuum valve portion which forms a vacuum valve in cooperation with the vacuum valve seat. The stepped pin is pushed rearward when a corresponding portion of the rear surface of the reaction member deforms and bulges rearward, and pushes the vacuum valve seat rearward in relation to the valve body.

摘要: A negative pressure type booster device possesses a valve mechanism constructed to compensate for insufficient depressing force applied to a brake pedal upon emergency braking. Upon depression of the brake pedal, first negative pressure valves contact first negative pressure valve seats to block a variable pressure chamber from communication with a constant pressure chamber, and an atmosphere valve seat is separated from an atmosphere valve to communicate the variable pressure chamber with atmosphere. A partition member thus moves forwards depending on the pressure difference between the chambers to output a propelling force from an output rod. When the brake pedal is stepped on quickly, a valve member is urged backwards by a spring member causing second negative pressure valve seats to contact second negative pressure valves and move the valve member backwards. The atmosphere valve separates from the atmosphere valve seat, and the variable pressure chamber quickly communicates with atmosphere.

摘要: A negative pressure type booster includes a power piston, a slide valve, and a holding mechanism, among others, and assists a driver during emergency braking. The holding mechanism is adapted to hold the slide valve at a predetermined frontward position, and includes a latch member that is mounted to the power piston in such a manner as to be linearly movable in a radial direction, and a garter spring for biasing the latch member radially inward. The latch member has a hook that can be engaged with and disengaged from a hook provided on the slide valve. When a plunger moves frontward relative to the power piston by a quantity greater than a predetermined value, a push slope provided on the plunger pushes a passive slope provided on the latch member radially outward, whereby the hook of the latch member is disengaged from the hook of the slide valve.

摘要: A master cylinder includes a cylinder body and primary and secondary pistons slidably received in the cylinder body, thereby defining first and second pressure chambers in the cylinder body. The first and second pressure chambers communicate with a reservoir through first and second fluid passages, respectively. During automatic brake control such as traction control or vehicle stability control, hydraulic fluid is drawn from the reservoir through the first and second pressure chambers. A throttle valve is received in each of the first and second fluid passages. The throttle valves are adapted to open while the master cylinder is inoperative and to close under backflow pressure when hydraulic fluid flows from the pressure chambers toward the reservoir. The throttle valves each include a floating valve body and a valve seat. The valve seat has its radially outer portion liquid-tightly joined and fixed to the cylinder body so that the fixed position of the valve seat and the lowermost position of the floating valve body are determined by the cylinder body.

摘要: A master cylinder is proposed that is simple in structure, can minimize the stroke of the piston required to seal the port, and minimize the possibility of the primary cup getting damaged. 1. The master cylinder includes a cylinder body. A primary cup is provided on a radially inner surface of the cylinder body. A primary piston is inserted in the cylinder body while kept in slide contact with the primary cup. The cylinder body has a rear wall supporting the primary cup. The rear wall has a radially inner surface formed with a plurality of grooves. A passage leading to a reservoir is provided in the rear of the grooves. The piston is formed with radial through holes corresponding to the grooves. When the piston is at the return end of its stroke, the pressure chamber defined in the cylinder body is adapted to communicate with the reservoir through the radial through holes, the grooves of the rear wall and the passage. If the master cylinder is a tandem master cylinder, all of the abovementioned elements are provided both for the first and second pressure chambers.

摘要: Disclosed is a brake booster device wherein the construction of a valve mechanism and in particular, of a negative pressure valve seat are simplified, so that the circumferential length of the negative pressure valve seat and the area through which the pressure difference between a constant pressure chamber and a variable pressure chamber acts on a negative pressure valve can be easily set or designed to meet the valve characteristic. The brake booster device is of the type that when the stepping force exerted on a brake pedal causes a plunger and an output piston to move relative to each other, switching is carried out to make a variable pressure chamber communicate with either of the atmosphere and a constant pressure chamber and that the pressure difference between the variable pressure chamber and the constant pressure chamber is thus caused to move a partition member and an output piston forward, whereby an output rod is pushed to generate pressurized brake fluid in a master cylinder. In the brake booster device of the aforementioned type, closed, elongate negative pressure valve seats are protruded from a rear end flat surface portion of the output piston to encircle passages communicating with the constant pressure chamber, while an annular valve seat is formed at the rear surface of the plunger to encircle an atmosphere leading passage. Negative pressure valves and an atmosphere valve respectively contactable with the negative pressure valve seats and the atmosphere valve seat are formed on a valve member at respective positions spaced in the axial direction. Communication passages are provided at the outer surface of the valve member between the negative pressure valves and the atmosphere valve to make the interior of the valve member with the variable pressure chamber.

摘要: An automatically operable negative pressure type booster can be applied for a front stage pressurizing function in a braking fluid pressure control apparatus with braking and steering control. The booster includes a housing, a movable wall dividing the housing interior into a front chamber and a rear chamber, a valve housing outputting a braking force to an output rod, an input member, and a control valve. The output rod can be divided into a first member and a second member. The booster further includes an auxiliary movable wall which can be engaged with the first member, a partition wall forming an auxiliary variable pressure chamber behind the auxiliary movable wall, and an electromagnetic valve unit selectively communicating the auxiliary variable pressure chamber with the front chamber or atmosphere. Further, a negative pressure type booster which is able to achieve the smooth flow of air from a space portion into a variable pressure chamber includes a housing, a movable wall, and a plate forming a space portion between the housing and the plate. An air passage retractable in the axial direction is disposed in a constant pressure chamber and communicates the space portion with a variable pressure chamber. An electromagnetic valve unit selectively communicates the variable pressure chamber with a negative pressure source or atmosphere through the space portion and the air passage. One end portion of the air passage is engaged in an airtight manner with only the plate member.
