Abstract:
An improved molded door skin of a synthetic door is disclosed to have a recessed portion for removably installing a replaceable panel thereon, by changing the replaceable panel with another one having different patterns, the molded door skin is therefore variegated; the molded door skin further has a receiving groove circling the recessed portion for receiving a batten having decorative effects, by combinations of different battens with different fashionable replaceable panels can better improve the molded door skin in decoration and esthetics.
Abstract:
An alkaline polymer electrolyte membrane formed by mixing hydrophilic PVA, PECH and DMSO organic solvent possessing high mechanical strength and superior electrochemical stability, and with an ionic conductivity higher than 0.01 S/cm under normal temperature which may supersede the traditional PP/PE non-woven fabric separator and KOH electrolyte; in addition, the alkaline polymer electrolyte membrane shall be combined with a base material of glass fiber web, PE/PP porous film and Nylon porous film with thickness of 20 μm˜800 μm to obtain a composite solid-state alkaline polymer electrolyte membrane, which may be used as a separator membrane applicably inside a Zinc-air cell, a Nickel-hydrogen cell, a nickel-cadmium cell, a nickel-zinc cell, a fuel cell, a metal-air cell, a primary and secondary alkaline (Zn—MnO2) cells, and an alkaline capacitors.
Abstract:
An improved molded door having provisions for glass insert comprising at least 50% of said door's exterior surface includes a quadrilateral frame formed of a top rail, a bottom rail, a right stile and a left stile joined together, two sheets of molded door skins, each skin having a large central opening with an inwardly directed flange extending normal to its planer surface and around its respective opening, which flanges interlock when assembled on frame and form secondary frame for receiving a glass insert, means operable to join the skins to the quadrilateral frame, means operable to join the integral flanges of the skins in an interlocked relationship around their respective openings thereby forming an interlocked secondary frame for receiving a glass insert, a secondary left stile located between the joined flanges and the left stile with this stile joined to the skins and a secondary right stile located between the joined flanges and the right stile with this stile joined to said skins whereby the door supports said insert without twisting and bending when in service.
Abstract:
Structural members for doors and the like can be manufactured from plastic foamed composites containing wood flour by the steps of (1) dry mixing a blend of powders including PVC powder, wood flour, powdered thermal stabilizers, powdered fowning agent and a powdered gelatinization agent, (2) adding the mixed powder to a thermal stirring mixer to obtain a homogeneous dispersion of the several powders (3) transferring the homogeneous dispersion of powders to a cold stirring mixer and stirring at speeds sufficient to avoid agglomeration of the homogeneous dispersion of the several powders and (4) placing the non-agglomerated homogeneous dispersion of the several powders in a feeding hopper of an extrusion machine and extruding shapes for the desired components. The vacuum venting of the extrusion machine can be controlled to achieve components with more desirable surface features. Lubricants can be added to the homogeneous dispersions of the several powders to aid in the extrusion process.

Abstract:
A two part grille with interlocking connections molded from opaque plastic allows one or more screens or filters supported inside the grille and provides a configuration which allows its parts to be fitted on opposite sides of an opening in a wall or a door locked together by a mortise and tenon joint so that no screws are necessary, and the two part grille further has intermediate spacers used to accommodate differing thickness of a wall or the like.

Abstract:
An air cathode having a multilayer structure is composed of at least one substrate, two diffusion layers and three activation layers. The two diffusion layers are laminated over an upper side of the substrate and a lower side of the substrate. The three activation layers are respectively laminated over one of the two diffusion layers in order. Different loadings or different kinds of catalysts are added into a slurry to form the activation layers, and the activation layers and the diffusion layers are made through simultaneous sintering, thereby shortening the processing time. When the air cathode is used as the cathode of the Zinc-Air battery, the electrolyte inside the Zinc-Air battery will not be influenced by the outside air, and the problem of maintaining the water content of the zinc anode of the Zinc-Air battery can be efficiently overcome.
Abstract:
Synthetic doors composed a rectangular frame with of skins of compression molded sheets secured to opposite sides of the frame and a core of foamed plastics with a window light therein are improved with a novel glazing cleat for securing a window light in an aperture in such a door that includes plate that rests against edges the skins about the aperture, the plate having an upright rim engaging a face of a window light and downwardly directed flanges which, with tangs on a retainer member having a upright tab engaging the opposite face the window light when nesting with the plate sandwiches the skins between the flanges and tangs to take advantage of the mechanical strength of the skins. Further if a fire resistant plate is married to internal face of each skin, the cleat will take advantage of the mechanical strength of such plates in supporting the window light in the case of fires, even if the outer or exterior skin or skins are turned to ash by a fire. For increased fire resistance the core is formed of a fire resistant foam, such a phenolic foam.
Abstract:
In a door constructed of spaced apart compression molded skins (11, 12) reinforced with fiber glass with a core space (18) between the skins (11, 12) filled with foam to construct the door (10), an improved skin (11 or 12) for such door is constructed by adding specific pigments to the raw materials for such skins before compression molding occurs to achieve a surface which is superior in appearance to the skins (11, 12) of such door (10) which is painted and/or stained after such skins (11, 12) are compression molded and converted into a door. The specific pigments employed are titanium oxide [TiO2], ferric oxide [Fe2O3], organic green pigment, organic blue pigment and carbon black and are blended in different percentages to achieve different colors without loss of the integrity of the skin (11 or 12).
