    摘要: Disclosed are a multifunctional apparatus equipped with a jam recovery device and a selective jam recovery method. The multifunctional apparatus has an image forming unit enabling the apparatus to record image data onto a recordable medium. The multifunctional apparatus can record two types of data. When a page of a first type of data is stored in a page queue processor of the multifunctional apparatus and starts to be recorded onto a first page of a recordable medium, the page queue processor deletes the page of the first type of data according to whether the first page of the recordable medium has been successfully discharged from the multifunctional apparatus and, importantly, also according to a condition of a discharge error recovery function. However, when a page of a second type of data is stored in the page queue processor and starts to be recorded onto a second page of a recordable medium, the page queue processor deletes the page of the second type of data according only to whether the second page of the recordable medium has been successfully discharged, and not according to the condition of the discharge error recovery function. In other words, the page queue processor deletes the first type of data according to a condition of the discharge error recovery function. Whereas, the page queue processor deletes the second type of data without regard to the condition of the discharge error recovery function. When the page of the recordable medium is discharged successfully, the corresponding data is definitely removed from the page queue processor.

Data of one mode are received from the host even when the multifunction device performs in a specific mode and returns again to a previous mode after reception of the data in the one mode, thereby providing no damage to the operation in the previous mode. The data transmission method for a host connected to a multifunction device includes the steps of: detecting the mode of the multifunction device corresponding to data in response to a data transmission command to the multifunction device; transmitting a signal indicative of the detected mode to the multifunction device; and transmitting the data to the multifunction device after transmission of the signal.

The debugging device in an apparatus having a scanning and printing function generates status messages according to running states of the scanning and printing system. Generally, the generated messages are ignored in cases where defects are not generated. However, the generated messages are stored in a memory by setting the defects tracing mode, and are accessed by an operator, if necessary, in cases where defects are generated.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for enhancing print quality by adjusting a print density of a printer according to changes in the environment. Threshold tables having different threshold values corresponding to different environments of a printer engine are stored in the printer and the printer itself can perform a halftone process. According to the method, print data to be printed are first received and stored when a print operation command is received. Then, present environmental state information is received from the printer engine. Corresponding to the present environmental state information, a threshold table is selected among the threshold tables. Thereafter, the lightness of the print data is determined through the selected threshold table and the halftone process is performed. Then, the print data that is image-processed through the halftone process is transmitted to the printer engine to be printed.
