    摘要: A prosthetic valve delivery system for percutaneously delivering and deploying a prosthetic valve within an existing valve is disclosed. The delivery system includes a stented prosthetic valve having a balloon-expandable stent portion with a prosthetic valve disposed therein and at least one self-expanding stent portion. The delivery system further includes a dual balloon catheter having a first balloon on which the stented prosthetic valve is disposed during delivery and a second balloon. Upon delivery within the existing valve, the self-expanding stent portion contacts the existing valve and the first balloon expands the balloon-expandable stent portion to a first diameter such that the stented prosthetic valve is in a first stage deployment configuration. The second balloon then expands the balloon-expandable stent portion to a second diameter, greater than the first diameter, such that the stented prosthetic valve is in a second stage deployment configuration being fully deployed within the existing valve.

    摘要: A drug delivery stent is formed by a metallic or polymeric tubular strut which is shaped into a generally cylindrical configuration, the tubular strut having a central lumen for containing a therapeutic substance or drug therein. The tubular strut has a continuous channel extending from the inside surface of the strut to the outside surface of the strut positioned spirally about or in a corkscrew fashion around a circumference of the tubular strut for delivering the therapeutic substance or drug to a stenotic lesion. The spiral or corkscrew channel width may be varied along the length of the strut to control elution rate and/or flexibility of the stent. The pitch of the spiral or corkscrew channel may also be varied along the length of the strut to control flexibility of the stent. The stent may be carried on a balloon of a balloon catheter to a site of a stenotic lesion where the stent is implanted.

One embodiment of the invention includes a method for attaching a reshaping device to the annulus of a mitral valve, moving the body of the device from a fully expanded configuration to a resting configuration, and thereby reshaping the mitral valve annulus.

    摘要: A system for reducing a compass of an opening or structure in a mammalian body comprises an anchor having a central aperture, a tensioner having a plurality of openings, and a plurality of filaments, each including a retaining member affixed to a distal portion of the filament. The tensioner is receivable within the anchor central aperture. A proximal portion of each filament is receivable within a tensioner opening. A method of reducing a compass of a lumen or structure in a mammalian body comprises delivering the anchor to a first location proximate target tissue, delivering the filaments to a second location proximate the target tissue, threading the filaments through the anchor and the tensioner openings, positioning the tensioner in the anchor aperture, retaining the filaments in the tensioner, and rotating the tensioner to twist the filaments, thereby shortening the length of the filaments and increasing the tension across the system.

The torquing device comprises a flexible body portion having a guidewire lumen extending longitudinally there through. A coupling portion formed on a distal end of the body portion interfaces with a rotational fastener positioned within a vessel. The system comprises a guide catheter, at least one guidewire, at least one rotational fastener disposed on the guidewire, and a torquing device. The guide catheter is positioned adjacent to a treatment site, and the rotational fastener and guidewire are delivered through the guide catheter to the treatment site. The torquing device, which has a guidewire lumen extending longitudinally through at least a portion of the device, tracks over the guidewire to engage and rotate the fastener.

    摘要: Intraluminal stent assemblies and methods of deploying the same. The assemblies include a catheter including at least one lumen formed therein. At least one inflatable member is disposed on the catheter and in communication with the lumen. The inflatable member includes at least one distal projection and/or at least one retention material. A stent is expandable from a compressed configuration to an expanded configuration. The stent is disposed on the inflatable member in the compressed configuration. A sheath is slidably positioned over the stent wherein the stent expands to the expanded configuration upon retraction of the sheath. The inflatable member is inflated with a fluid flowing through the lumen. The at least one distal projection and/or at least one retention material retain the stent in position on the inflatable member while the stent is being deployed.
