Abstract:
A digital switching signal sequence is realized as a previously digitized, high-pass filtered white noise signal of a predetermined length T, with a high-pass cut-off frequency which lies above the frequency where the loudness threshold characteristic in silence of the human hearing has its highest sensitivity, if possible. The switching signal sequence is employed for switching purposes (206), e.g., for switching between two information signals (201, 207).
Abstract:
A system, computer-readable medium system, and method which provide for delivering notifications to a mobile device where the provider has first and second mobile technology types. Initially, a notification is received from a notification sub-system. A first communication of the notification to the mobile device is then attempted via the first technology type. Where the mobile device has the second technology type, an error signal is received that the attempt has failed. Next, a second communication of the notification to the mobile device is attempted via the second technology type. Where the mobile device has the second technology type and receives the notification, a delivery signal that the attempt was successful is received. After the delivery signal is received, logging of the second technology type of the mobile device is made so that thereafter, any new notification is attempted using the logged second technology type.
Abstract:
Apparatus, method and system for notifying a communications-switching center that subsequent communications directed to a wireless number associated with the wireless unit are to be routed to a destination number associated with the wireless unit. In response to a triggering event by the wireless unit through the base unit, the base unit can cause the wireless unit to transmit an SMS message to the communications-switching center. The SMS message can include a notification that subsequent communications directed to the wireless number associated with the wireless unit are to be routed to the destination number associated with the wireless unit.

The invention is directed to novel tablets comprising isoflavone-containing plant extract and water-insoluble polysaccharides, and methods of manufacturing them.
Abstract:
In order to transmit or to store digitalized, multi-channel audio signals which are digitally represented by a plurality of spectral subband signals, at an encoder, subband signals of different audio channels but having the same frequency position are combined across channels according to a dynamic control signal. This control signal is derived from several audio channels by an audio signal analysis based on a psycho-acoustic binaural model. At a decoder, the subband signals of several audio channels but having the same frequency position are dissociated across channels according to a control value derived from the dynamic control signal, transmitted or stored therewith.
Abstract:
A method of generating an audio output signal according to a downward compatible sound format, the method including: generating a sum signal by combining a first input channel signal with a second input channel signal; and dynamically correcting the sum signal using samples of the first and second input channel signals from overlapping time windows.

Abstract:
The invention relates to an electronic device (1) and a method for carrying out several processes with said electronic device (1), by means of which rapid solution times may be achieved in a resource-saving manner, whereby, in operation, said electronic device (1) carries out first and second processes (P1, P2), of which the first process (P1) may be carried out in the form of an approximation (P1-N) and in the form of an executable calculation (P1-B). The electronic device comprises a processor (9), for carrying out processes (P1, P2) and an electronic unit (11) comprises a device which recognizes whether the processor (9) is active and serves to carry out the first process (P1) during a simultaneous processing of two processes by the processor (9), by itself determining the approximation (P1-N), used in place of an executable calculation (P1-B), carried out by the processor (9).
Abstract:
A method of encoding an audio signal for transmission and/or for storage includes changing a digitized audio signal based on a selected signal changing criteria. The changed digitized audio signal is encoded, based at least on an available data rate for transmitting and/or storing the audio signal, for reducing an amount of data associated with the changed, digitized audio signal. The reduced-data audio signal is then evaluated for determining whether a code overload condition exists. If a code overload condition exists, another signal changing criteria is selected. A time behavior and/or a spectral distribution of the digitized audio signal is recursively changed based on the another signal changing criteria before the amount of data associated with the digitized audio signal is reduced so that deterioration of reduced-data audio signal is not perceptible when the coded signal is decoded. The recursively changed digitized audio signal is encoded for reducing an amount of data associated with the recursively changed digitized audio signal based at least on the available data rate. Lastly, the recursively changed encoded reduced-data digitized audio signal is transmitted and/or stored.
