    摘要: A system for storing and recovering energy associated with a machine having ground engaging tracks is disclosed. The system includes a power source configured to supply mechanical energy for operation of the machine, and an electric generator operably coupled to the power source. The electric generator is configured to convert at least a portion of the mechanical energy into electric energy. The system further includes an electric motor operably coupled to the electric generator. The electric motor is configured to supply power to the ground engaging tracks. The system includes an energy storage device configured to store energy associated with the machine, and a controller configured to divert a portion of the energy supplied by the power source to the energy storage device while the machine travels in a first direction, and recover energy stored in the energy storage device for use while the machine travels in a second direction.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a cooling circuit for a work machine that provides increased cooling capacity of a radiator without increasing the physical size of the radiator. The cooling circuit includes a jacket water pump, a jacket water portion of an engine and a radiator fluidly coupled to the circuit. A first powertrain oil cooler is fluidly coupled to the cooling circuit between the jacket water pump and the jacket water portion. A second powertrain oil cooler is fluidly coupled to the cooling circuit between the jacket water portion and the radiator. Positioning of the powertrain oil coolers in this manner increases the temperature differential between ambient air and coolant entering the radiator, therefore increasing cooling capacity of the radiator.

    摘要: An engine cooling system includes a two-pass radiator, a jacket water pump pumping coolant from the radiator to the engine, and an aftercooler for cooling engine charge air from a turbocharger. An aftercooler pump pumps coolant from the radiator to the aftercooler. An orifice can be disposed in the aftercooler discharge line to limit flow therethrough, and an orifice bypass line with thermostatic control valve can be provided to selectively bypass the orifice. A shunt tank is connected to the suction of the jacket water pump to establish a static pressure head thereon, to ensure that the jacket water pump has sufficient suction pressure despite relatively high coolant head loss through the two-pass radiator.

    摘要: An engine cooling system includes a primary two-pass radiator, a jacket water pump pumping coolant from the primary radiator to the engine, and a secondary radiator receiving coolant from the primary radiator in parallel with the engine. An after cooler for cooling engine charge air from a turbo charger receives coolant from the secondary radiator, and water is circulated to the after cooler by a SCAC pump. A shunt tank is connected to the suction of the jacket water pump to establish a static pressure head thereon, to ensure that the jacket water pump has sufficient suction pressure despite relatively high coolant head loss through the two-pass primary radiator.

A drive assembly including an electric motor and a pump shaft is positioned within the pump housing, and a first impeller and a second impeller are mounted on the pump shaft at first and second axial locations on opposite sides of a rotor of the electric motor. The first impeller has a first impeller configuration, and defines a first tolerance sensitivity with the first volute, and a second impeller has a second, different impeller configuration and defines a second, lesser tolerance sensitivity with the second volute. The first impeller may include au open impeller positioned at a first clearance with the first volute, and the second impeller may include a closed impeller positioned at a second, greater clearance with the second volute.

    摘要: A dual circuit cooling system for a vehicle having an engine and a turbocharger aftercooler includes a modular radiator system having partitions in the tanks of the radiator. The partitions create separate radiator sections, and the partitions contain orifices that provide a crossover function between the sections. During cooler engine operating temperatures the engine thermostat closes which causes engine coolant to be circulated mainly within the engine, and which also causes pressure downstream of the thermostat to drop. The reduced pressure allows coolant from the aftercooler circuit to pass through a first crossover and circulate through the main radiator, then through a second crossover and back to the aftercooler circuit. During higher engine temperatures the thermostat opens, equalizing pressure between the circuits, thus creating normal flow through the circuits.
