摘要: Implantable medical devices (IMDs) and their various components, particularly a simplified, miniature capacitor connector block and wiring harness utilizing an epoxy droplet and method of making same are disclosed. An electrode stack comprises a plurality of capacitor layers stacked in registration upon one another, each capacitor layer comprising a cathode layer having a cathode tab, an anode sub-assembly comprising at least one anode layer having an anode tab, and a separator layer located between adjacent anode and cathode layers. A connector assembly is electrically attached to the anode connection terminal for making electrical connection with anode tabs and to the cathode connection terminal for making electrical connection with cathode tabs. The connector block is formed on an encapsulation area of a case side wall of epoxy that is cured for a period of time under elevated temperature conditions while rotating the capacitor assembly.

摘要: Implantable medical devices (IMDs) and their various components, including flat electrolytic capacitors for same, and methods of making and using same and providing for outgassing of gases released during capacitor charge and discharge cycles are disclosed. A gas vent and liquid electrolyte barrier into the electrolyte fill tube lumen that is used to fill the interior case chamber with electrolyte and then needs to be closed to prevent leakage of electrolyte. The fill port is shaped to comprise a fill port tube having interior and exterior tube ends and a fill port ferrule intermediate the ends of the fill port tube and comprising a fill port ferrule flange extending trasversely to and away from the fill port tube. The fill port ferrule is mounted in an opening disposed in one of the case wall and the cover wall with the ferrule flange in seaing engagement therewith to locate the exterior tube end extending outwardly away from the fill port ferrule flange and the interior tube end within the interior case chamber. A microporous plug is injected into and fills the fill port lumen, the plug formed of a microporous material allowing the escape of gas released from the liquid electrolyte during capacitor charging while preventing escape of liquid or vaporized electrolyte.

摘要: A jewelry cleaning device which emits a jet of steam under manually operable control means for the cleansing of various types of small items including jewelry, coins, trinkets, or the like. The jewelry cleaning device of the present invention is lightweight and relatively compact in size thus enabling its use on virtually any conventional tabletop and is easily stored when not in use. The steam generator is powered by conventional electrical power and is controlled by means of a thermostat to maintain the water/steam mixture at a predetermined temperature while in operation. Safety mechanisms include a pressure relief valve to automatically expel steam from the generator when the internal pressure thereof exceeds a predetermined level and a thermal fuse configured in a series connection with the heating element of the steam generator. A containment device is optionally provided which is made of screen mesh and fashioned into a cup-like shape, is slidably engaged onto the sidewall of the jewelry cleaning device housing and is disposed underneath the spout in such a manner to trap gems or other small parts which are inadvertently dislodged from the jewelry piece during the cleaning operation.

摘要: Implantable medical devices (DMDs) and their various components, including flat electrolytic capacitors for same, and methods of making and using same, particularly a simplified, miniature capacitor connector block and wiring harness utilizing an epoxy droplet and method of making same are disclosed. An electrode stack assembly and electrolyte are located within the interior case chamber of a hermetically sealed capacitor case. The electrode stack includes a plurality of capacitor layers stacked in registration upon one another, each capacitor layer including a cathode layer having a cathode tab, an anode sub-assembly comprising at least one anode layer having an anode tab, and a separator layer located between adjacent anode and cathode layers, whereby all adjacent cathode layers and anode layers of the stack are electrically insulated from one another by a separator layer. Anode terminal means extend through the capacitor case side wall for electrically connecting a plurality of the anode tabs to one another and providing an anode connection terminal at the exterior of the case. Cathode terminal means extend through or to an encapsulation area of the capacitor case side wall for electrically connecting a plurality of the cathode tabs to one another and providing a cathode connection terminal at the exterior of the case. A connector assembly is electrically attached to the anode connection terminal for making electrical connection with the anode tabs and to the cathode connection terminal for making electrical connection with the cathode tabs. A connector block is formed of an epoxy droplet adhered to the encapsulation area of the capacitor side wall surrounding and encapsulating the anode and cathode connection terminals and the electrical connections with the connector assembly. The connector block is formed on an encapsulation area of the case side wall of epoxy that is cured for a period of time under elevated temperature conditions while rotating the capacitor assembly.

摘要: A process for coating a solid surface (42) with a conditioned liquid composition of substantially uniform thickness is provided. A liquid composition is conditioned by a) degassing either via vacuum or by sparging with a high kinematic viscosity gas; and b) substantially maintaining the viscosity of the liquid composition. The conditioned liquid may then be dispensed onto a solid surface (42) positioned in a sub-atmospheric environment (37) or in a helium-rich environment (37). The solid surface (42) is rotated so that the liquid composition forms a uniformly thick coating free from bubbles on the solid surface (42) and thereby produces a thin film of uniform thickness.
