摘要： A process for forming a sheet of thermoplastic material into a three-dimensional shape comprising at least one vertex, the process comprising the steps of (i) forming the sheet by means of a former having a profile such as to produce a first formed shape in the sheet, followed by (ii) positioning a male former within the first formed shape, the male former having a profile within the first formed shape comprising at least one vertex and (iii) raising the temperature of the first formed shape above that of forming in step (i), thereby causing the first formed shape to shrink back towards its original sheet form and thereby adopting the profile of the male former.

摘要： A sewing machine is provided which is capable of sewing reinforcing wire to tubular grafts in order to form stent grafts. A bobbin (which may be seated in a shuttle) carries a bottom thread through the bore of the tubular graft and forms a stitch in combination with a top thread carried on a needle which pierces the graft wall.

摘要： Provided is a process for forming a sheet of thermoplastic material into a three-dimensional shape, the process comprising the steps of (i) forming the sheet at a temperature below its glass transition temperature to produce a first formed shape in the sheet, followed by (ii) raising the temperature of the first formed shape (20) to above its glass transition temperature whilst a male former (12), having at least a portion of its profile being substantially the same as that of the first formed shape (20), is positioned to substantially align at least a portion of its profile with that of the first formed shape (20), thereby restricting the first formed shape from shrinking back towards its original sheet form, followed by (iii) further forming the first formed shape (20) at a temperature below that of the glass transition temperature, to form a second formed shape (24), followed by (iv) raising the temperature of the second formed shape (24) to above its glass transition temperature whilst a male former (16), at least a portion of its profile being substantially the same as that of the second formed shape (24), is positioned to substantially align at least a portion of its profile with that of the second formed shape (24), thereby restricting the second formed shape (24) from shrinking back towards its original sheet form.

摘要： The invention relates to a printer including a scanning mechanism provided in a housing, a mounting mechanism for releasably mounting a print head to the scanning mechanism, and an aperture. The scanning mechanism is arranged to move within the housing. The aperture is provided within the housing and arranged to be placed on, or adjacent to, an image receiving medium such that the print head, when mounted, is operable to print onto the image receiving medium through the aperture. In order to engrave an image into the image receiving medium, it is proposed that the mounting mechanism is arranged to accommodate a holding mechanism which holds a machining device for machining a medium. The printer may be provided with an ink supply containing a security ink, especially for printing entry receipts onto the hand of as customer entering a discotheque, concert, or other event.
