    摘要: It is intended to provide for a polycistronic expression pattern in a plant used as a host. The present invention provides a polynucleotide which comprises the following DNA (a) or (b) and functions as an IRES (internal ribosome entry site) in a plant: (a) DNA of the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, 2, 3, or 4; or (b) DNA of a nucleotide sequence derived from the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, 2, 3, or 4 by the substitution, deletion, addition, and insertion of one or more bases and having a function of positively regulating the translation of a nucleic acid located downstream thereof.

    摘要: A three-step screening of selection for resistance against pathogenic bacteria infection, selection for resistance against pathogenic fungi infection, and selection for sensitivity to salicylic acid was carried out on Arabidopsis thaliana lines highly expressing rice full-length cDNA (rice-FOX Arabidopsis lines) which were prepared by using a FOX hunting system. As a result, one Arabidopsis thaliana line (line K15424) selected in all of the three types of screening was successfully selected. Line K15424 carries a rice full-length cDNA. Rice overexpressing AK070024 was produced, and resistance against rice bacterial leaf blight was assayed using the T1 generation. As a result, it was confirmed that AK070024-overexpressing rice is resistant against bacterial leaf blight and blast.

    摘要: A gene causative of a phenotype is easily specified and thus gene functions are comprehensively analyzed. A method for analyzing a gene function includes (a) infecting a plant group with a full-length cDNA library containing an expression regulatory sequence to introduce the cDNA into the plants; (b) selecting a plant complying with desired selection requirements from the plants into which the cDNA has been introduced; (c) isolating the cDNA from the selected plant; and (d) re-introducing the thus isolated cDNA into a plant of the same species as the plant into which the cDNA has been introduced, to reconfirm a phenotype according to the selection requirements.
