Abstract: A water heater system includes a tank defining a fluid chamber and having a top end and a bottom end and a thermal mixing valve. The thermal mixing valve is arranged exterior of the tank and at the top end thereof. The thermal mixing valve includes a first fluid inlet that draws water from the bottom end of the tank, a second fluid inlet that is in fluid communication with the fluid chamber, and a fluid outlet exterior to the tank.

Abstract: A water heater and thermostatic control device for a lavatory faucet includes a hot water tank having a reservoir and a heating element disposed within the reservoir, the heating element heats ambient temperature water received by the reservoir to produce hot water, a thermal mixing valve configured to mix hot water received from the hot water tank with ambient temperature water to produce mixed temperature water. The water heater and thermostatic control device also includes a shut off valve configured to permit flow of mixed temperature water to the lavatory faucet, wherein the shut off valve includes a diaphragm and an armature assembly, and wherein the diaphragm is configured to permit air to bleed or vent through the shut off valve when the mixed temperature water is not imparting pressure on the diaphragm.

Abstract: A steering valve includes a housing and a spool disposed inside the housing. The housing includes a top plane and a bottom plane, the top plane including an opening of a first port and the bottom plane including an opening of a second port. The spool includes a top plane including a first and second opening corresponding to a third port and a fourth port, one of which is configured to align with the opening of the first port depending on the orientation of the housing. The spool also includes a bottom plane including a first and second opening corresponding to the third port and fourth port, one of which is configured to align with the opening of the second port depending on the orientation of the housing. The housing is configured to rotate around the spool and wherein the orientation of the housing determines whether the first port is fluidly coupled to the third port via the first opening in the top plane of the spool while the second port is fluidly coupled to the fourth port via the first opening on the bottom plane of the spool or whether the second port is fluidly coupled to the third port via the second opening in the top plane of the spool while the first port is fluidly coupled to the fourth port via the second opening on the bottom plane of the spool.

The flow-through heating assembly may extend into the water tank and heats water as water is passed through an interior channel of the flow-through heating assembly. In one embodiment, the flow through heater assembly is a thermosiphonic heater having a hollow body and a heating element extending therein such that an annular recess is defined between an interior surface of the hollow body and the external surface of the heating element.

Abstract: A water heater includes a water tank and a flow-through heating element. The water tank contains heated water. The flow-through heating element is located in the lower portion of the water tank and heats water as water is passed through an interior channel of the heating element. In another configuration, the water heater further includes a recirculation line and the heating element further includes an input end external of the water tank to receive water to be heated and an output end to output heated water into the water tank. The recirculation line transports water from the water tank to the input end of the heating element that is external of the water tank.
