The recording-reproducing apparatus RC-k records and reproduces the contents data broadcast by a broadcasting installation BE. Such recording-reproducing apparatus RC-k downloads the replacement advertising information for replacing the original advertising information incorporated into the contents data from a management server CS in reproducing the contents data recorded in the self machine. At this time, the management server CS selects the replacement advertising information, based on the advertisement story pattern data indicating the advertisement substance, and the story pattern data indicating the substance of contents conforming to the preference of the user of the recording-reproducing apparatus RC-k, and distributes the replacement advertising information to the recording-reproducing apparatus RC-k. The recording-reproducing apparatus RC-k replaces the original advertising information with the distributed replacement advertising information to reproduce the contents data.
