    摘要: A portable radio telephone (5) communicates with base stations (1, 2) in a digital radio telephone system, such as DECT, employing TDMA transmission. The portable radio telephone is programmed with an algorithm which is operative to select a communication channel by storing a blind slot mask (7) representative of the time slots in each frame which are excluded. The algorithm is operative to check the time slots for availability in a predetermined sequence which corresponds to the temporal sequence of the slots (or the reverse thereof) to promote orderly filling of the time slots at the base stations.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for a handset are provided to select a channel for monitoring a system operating under a cellular radio telephone protocol supported by repetitive cellular radio systems. A base station transmits a signal packet having time slots and fields, which are recognizable by the handset. There is a selection of a carrier of a channel to scan in order to detect the packet. Upon finding a specified data field in the packet, there is a checking of a primary access right identity (PARI). Thereafter, the system may be found in order for the handset to lock onto the system, and, in the event that the system is not found, the procedure continues with a second pass which begins with a recording of received signal strength and secondary access right identity (SARI) information. In the second pass, there is again a selection of a carrier for scanning, this being obtained by use of information of the first pass. The scanning terminates in the event that there is a detection of the desired signal but continues in the event of a failure to determine compatibility between the handset and the system.

    摘要: A modem is provided for a wireless device that is capable of providing service for at least two SIMs. The modem has at least a first set of modem components and a second set of modem components. The modem selectively reconfigures the arrangement of the plural sets of modem components. In a first configuration, the first set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a first SIM of the wireless device and the second set of modem components provides wireless connection service for a second SIM of the wireless device. This allows active wireless connections to be made on behalf of both SIMs simultaneously by the sets of modem components. In a second configuration, the first set of modem components and the second set of modem components provide wireless connection service for the first SIM.

    摘要: A wireless device has at least a first modem and a second modem and at least a first SIM and a second SIM. The first modem supports a different level of service than the second modem. A processing system of the wireless device selectively reconfigures the connection of the first modem and the second modem to the SIMs. In a first mapping configuration, the first SIM is connected to the first modem and the second SIM is connected to the second modem. In a second mapping configuration, the second SIM is disconnected from the second modem, and the first SIM is disconnected from the first modem and is connected to the second modem thereby to obtain a different level of service for the first SIM than in the first mapping configuration.
