摘要: A method and system for interleaving in a parallel turbo decoder enables the use of economical dual-port memory. According to the method, an incoming coding block is divided into a plurality of sub-blocks (step 1005). Each sub-block is divided into a plurality of windows (step 1010). An inter-window shuffle is then performed within each sub-block (step 1015). Each window is divided into two sub-windows (step 1020). Then an intra-window permutation is performed within each sub-window (step 1025).

摘要: A session control method for radio terminals that implements a Multimedia Integrated network by Radio Access Innovation (MIRAI) such that selection of a radio access network does not impose a burden on each of the radio access networks, and an interface setup method for setting up IP connection quickly during switching of the radio access network. The Multimedia Integrated network by Radio Access Innovation (MIRAI) 10 includes heterogeneous radio access networks 11, Internet 12, and multimode radio terminals 13, and the heterogeneous radio access networks 11 includes a PHS network 11a, a wireless LAN 11b, a paging network 11c, and a cellular phone network 11d. The Internet 12 includes a CCN server 12a, which sends session-related information to the radio terminal 13 via the paging network 11c. The radio terminal 13 selects a radio IF and application that are appropriate for communication based on the session-related information, and establishes a session.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device is constituted by a pair of oppositely disposed first and second substrates each having thereon a plurality of transparent stripe-shaped electrodes so that the transparent stripe-shaped electrodes on the first and second substrates intersect each other to form an electrode matrix, each stripe-shaped electrode being provided with a sub-electrode superposed thereon; and a liquid crystal disposed between the first and second substrates so as to provide a plurality of pixels each at an intersection of the stripe-shaped electrodes on the first and second substrates, thereby forming a display region including the pixels and a visible peripheral region surrounding the display region. In the visible peripheral region of the display device, the sub-electrodes on the first and second substrates are extended to mask or light-interrupt the stripe-shaped electrodes and spacings between the stripe-shaped electrodes on the first and second substrates.

摘要: A cellular communication system employs a plurality of bandwidths. The cellular communication system comprises a plurality of base stations (101, 103) each of which transmits a reference signal comprising a Generalised Chirp-Like, GCL, sequence. The length of the GCL sequence is dependent on the bandwidth employed by the base station (101, 103). A sequence generator (105) provides a first subset of GCL sequences for a first bandwidth selected from a set of possible GCL sequences for the first bandwidth in response to properties of a sub-sequence of GCL sequences. The sub-sequence has a length corresponding to a different bandwidth. Sequence processors (107, 109) select GCL sequences for base stations (101, 103) employing the first bandwidth from the first subset of GCL sequences. The invention exploits characteristics of GCL sequences to enable, facilitate or improve multiple bandwidth operation.

摘要: A matrix-type liquid crystal display device is constituted by a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal disposed between the substrates. At least one of the substrates including one on a viewer side includes a transparent substrate having thereon transparent electrodes, auxiliary electrodes of a metal electrically connected with the transparent electrodes respectively associated therewith and a blue filter disposed closer to the viewer side so as to mask at least 75% of a total planar area of the auxiliary electrodes as viewed from the viewer side. As a result, the reflected light lowering the recognizability of a display on the liquid crystal device can be decreased without incurring a substantial increase in production cost.

摘要: A large-sized liquid crystal panel uniformly filled with a liquid crystal material may be produced through a process including the steps of: fixing a pair of substrates with a sealing member disposed therebetween to form a blank panel having an injection port, reducing a pressure within the panel, applying a liquid crystal material onto the injection port, heating the liquid crystal material to its isotropic temperature, injecting the liquid crystal material into the panel under a pressure, and filling the panel with the liquid crystal material under heating and pressurization from the injection port toward the panel inside. The pressure within the panel before the injection is reduced at a rate not exceeding 25 torr/min. The pressure for injection is increased at varying rates, e.g., with an intermediate constant pressure period. In the filling step, a portion of the liquid crystal material near the injection port is held in its isotropic phase and the liquid crystal material except for the portion is transformed at least once into a smectic phase.
