摘要: A pressure relief device and a hydraulic fracturing system having a pressure relief device are provided. In one form, the pressure relief device has a valve body with a linearly extending throughbore between the inlet and outlet thereof. A rupture disc is secured in the valve body so that a frangible dome wall portion thereof has a reverse-acting orientation in the valve body bore. The hydraulic fracturing system includes a pump and a delivery line that receives pressurized fracturing fluid from the pump and delivers it to a well. A pressure relief device is installed along the delivery line. A sensor detects fluid flow downstream of the pressure relief device which allows the pump to be shut down when the downstream fluid flow is detected. The pressure relief device can have a body with a domed rupture disc and the sensor therein.

摘要: The present invention provides an improved method of manufacturing a rupture disk and specifically of forming a score on a rupture disk. The method of the present invention includes the rotating of a rupture disk blank relative to an electrical discharge machining or “EDM” cutting wire and the simultaneous moving of the EDM cutting wire toward the axis of the disk while maintaining the wire in a selected position such as generally parallel to the disk peripheral skirt or flange. The rotation of the disk and the movement of the EDM wire can be precisely controlled with the motion system of a commercially available EDM machine. With the present invention, a precise score is cut a partial distance through the disk thickness and preferably on the convex side of the dome, near the transition from the dome to the flange and in a generally “c” shaped pattern. The formed score creates a pattern of weakness so that the disk will open in either of the forward or reverse buckling direction. Score patterns other than the “c” shaped pattern could be cut.

A plurality of teeth on the third layer extend from said edge inwardly. A plurality of tabs are provided on the first and third layers.

摘要: A rupture disc valve device as provided herein is configured to selectively release a pressurized material. In some embodiments, the rupture disc has a burst pressure rating less than a pressure of the pressurized material. The valve device selectively braces the rupture disc until release of the pressurized material is desired. To release the pressurized material, the valve device is configured to remove or adjust the bracing support to the rupture disc, allowing the pressurized material to burst the rupture disc.

摘要: A rupture panel of three layers employs a lower layer (e.g. foam) that is adhesive, a middle layer (e.g. metallic) and a hold down layer. The middle layer has a weakened portion (scoring, openings, for example) that defines the panel burst pressure. A part of the lower layer does not connect to the middle layer. That part that does not connect to the middle layer adheres to the hold down layer. The hold down layer can be in the form of a ring with an open center, the weakened portion of the middle layer occupying a position within the open center of the hold down layer.

A plurality of teeth on the third layer extend from said edge inwardly a distance. A plurality of tabs are provided on the first and third layers, said tabs including circumferentially spaced apart tabs on each of said first and third layers, each tab having a tab opening, said tabs generally aligning so that a fastener can be passed through the tab openings of the first layer and the third layer. The third layer is attached to the second layer which is a metal disk by means of spot weld around the disk flange and the first layer attached to the metal disk by means of an adhesive thus forming a rupture disk assembly. The fasteners affix this rupture disk assembly to the box. The second layer is generally circular and surrounded by the fasteners. The teeth are positioned on the concave side of the second layer. In a preferred embodiment, the teeth do not extend so far inwardly that they extend inwardly beyond the weakened portion or score. From any radial line extending from the center of the layers, the weakened portion is reached before any tooth, the teeth thus being spaced radially a distance equal to or greater than the weakened portion or score.
