Abstract:
A safety mechanism for preventing a cable drum to rotate with overspeed has parallel ratchet wheels which encircle a brake drum. At a periphery of the ratchet wheels are stopping slots wherein a latching pawl is inserted when an overspeed is detected. The slots of the adjacent ratchet wheels are staggered. Thus the braking effect of each ratchet wheel starts at a different point of time.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for turning a pair of wheels in a crane (1) moving on rubber-tired wheels or the like. The crane comprises an electric motor (28) with gearing (16), the electric motor functioning as traversing gear. When the wheels of the crane are turned, the locking device (15) prevents the wheels from turning is released, the crane is driven by the desired angle, and the locking device (15) preventing the wheels from turning is locked. Only one of the wheels (4a) in the pair of wheels is affected by the traversing gear of the crane, the other wheel (4b) being allowed to rotate freely.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for reducing overload and dampening collision energy, for instance, in connection with a container crane, the apparatus comprising a movable bar (16) to receive a load and a resistance device (18) against the predetermined resistance of which the movable bar are able to move in a dampening situation, and the resistance device comprise at least one friction device (18) arranged to cooperate with the movable bar (16).
Abstract:
In a method for the generation of control signals in a push button box and transmission of the signals for the control of a machine, signals representing the position of a push button element are transferred by a non-contacting mode from the push button element to a signal generating unit, which is adapted to produce control signals proportional to the position of the push button element. A push button box for carrying out the method comprises at least one push button element, a signal generating unit adapted to receive the signals representing the position of the push button element by non-contacting mode, and further adapted to generate control signals proportional to the position of each of the push button elements, and a partition between each push button element and the signal generating unit.
Abstract:
An electromechanical drive has an ac motor provided with a brake, a frequency converter provided with a control unit and supplying the motor, and a transmission gearing connected to the output of the motor. To achieve efficient cooling, the drive is provided with a cooling tunnel housing the motor and the brake; the control unit and the power stage semiconductor switches of the frequency converter are located on the outer walls of this tunnel; and the transmission gear is located in or adjacent the tunnel.
Abstract:
An apparatus for a locking unit of a container spreader having at least a pair of telescopic beams comprising a housing, a twistlock head partially inside the housing and partially protruding out from the housing, an elastic impact absorption element and a toothed coupling to transmit the necessary engagement torque to the twistlock head. The locking unit is equipped with a coupling that has been arranged to allow the movement of the twistlock head in all directions on a plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the twistlock head.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling a loading element suspended from lifting drums of a crane by lifting ropes, and a load attached to the loading element. The controlling referring to damping horizontal sway and skew of the loading element and precision positioning the same in the horizontal direction and in the direction of skew by use of a control apparatus comprising control mechanisms mounted in the crane and provided with motors, and four auxiliary ropes between the control mechanisms and the loading element The method comprising the loading element by moving the auxiliary ropes by means of control mechanisms. The control is implemented by four identical mechanisms provided with rope drums, devices for weighing the rope force and/or tachometers and motor control devices, each of the four mechanisms being connected to one auxiliary rope, and four identical control logic circuits connected to each mechanism for controlling by motors the forces exerted on the auxiliary ropes to prevent the load element from swaying.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a telfer carriage comprising dual end supports a supporting beam, hoisting and displacing machinery and a rope drum. To the end supports has been pivotally affixed the supporting beam lying immediately beside the rope drum and parallel therewith. The end supports have been rigidly joined together by a non-rotating axle, on which are furthermore rotatably carried, the rope drum and a carrying wheel pair.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a traversing gear arrangement for a crane moving on rubber-tired wheels or the like. The crane having an electric motor functioning as the traversing gear and including gearing and wheels arranged in pairs. The wheels in each of the pairs of wheels are connected to each other by a hollow pipe shaft such that one of the wheels is a drive wheel, while the other is a free wheel. The traversing gear connected to the drive wheel is mounted inside the pipe shaft.
Abstract:
A lifting machine has a drum unit comprising a motor attached to a frame of the lifting machine, a gearbox and a rope drum, this unit being resiliently attached to the frame of the lifting machine.
