Abstract:
An excrement-treating material has a core part, and a surface layer bonded to the core part by utilizing the adhesion ability of a water-absorbable polymer in the surface layer without using an adhesive. The excrement-treating material suitably exerts the water absorbability and water transport ability inherent to the surface layer. The excrement-treating material is constituted by incorporating pulverized water-absorbable polymer particles of 20 μm to 50 μm, and adding water to the surface of the core part after granulation to noncontinuously form a highly-wet part; reacting a water content in the highly-wet part and the pulverized water-absorbable polymer to noncontinuously form an adhering part; and bonding the surface layer to the core part through the adhering part. Upon absorption of excreted urine, permeation of the urine into the core part is accelerated in a part other than the adhering part.
Abstract:
An excrement-treating material includes a water-absorbing core part, and a surface layer. The core part is formed by wet-kneading and compression-granulating a compounding material containing a paper powder and organic or inorganic fine pieces. Dents and/or protrusions are formed on the surface of the core part by deformation by the kneading or compression of the fine pieces or peeling-off of the fine pieces from the paper powder upon release of compression. The surface of the core part is discontinuously colored by utilizing the dents and/or protrusions, and covered with the surface layer. The colored parts of the surface of the core part are exposed through the surface layer during absorption of excreted urine, while the non-colored part of the surface of the core part is stained by the color of the excreted urine, and the color of the excreted urine is exposed through the surface layer.
Abstract:
A production method for animal excrement treatment material and a production device therefor, having: a step in which raw material is granulized and a granular material is obtained; and a step in which a coloring agent is applied to the granular material. The step in which the coloring agent is applied to the granular material has: a step in which the granular material is suspended; and a step in which the coloring agent is sprayed on the suspended granular material.
Abstract:
An extrusion type compressive granulating apparatus is configured to produce granular excreta treating material that has an absorbing property and is formed by extruding and granulating a raw material via granulating holes formed in a table of the apparatus. A space rib is provided at a lower surface of the die table so as to form a gap below the granulating holes. A cutting blade is provided below the gap. The granulating holes each form a compression zone for compressing the raw material, and the gap forms a non-compression zone in which the compressed material swells before being cut by the cutting blade at the outlet of the non-compression zone.

A method of producing granular excreta treating material utilizes an extrusion type compressive granulating apparatus configured to produce granular excreta treating material that has an absorbing property and is formed by extruding and granulating a raw material via a granulating hole of the apparatus. The granulating hole includes a small diameter hole and a large diameter hole which are continuous to each other in the axial direction of the hole, in which the small diameter hole forms a compression zone, and the large diameter hole forms a non-compression zone, and in which the raw material is compressed at the compression zone, swells at the non-compression zone, and is cut into granules by a cutting blade rotating along an outlet surface of the non-compression zone.

Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a granular excretion disposal material having a core portion and a covering layer that covers the core portion. The method includes: a granulating step of granulating the core portion by blending a core portion raw material containing pulp and highly absorbent resin, with water; a covering step of forming the covering layer by spraying a covering layer raw material containing pulp and highly absorbent resin, onto a surface of the core portion granulated in the granulating step; a drying step of drying a granular matter, in which the covering layer is formed in the covering step, with hot air; and a cooling step of cooling the granular matter dried in the drying step
