摘要: A method for adapting color appearance of a display (200) for low luminance conditions includes operating a projection (100) to display images on a display surface (30); detecting ambient light conditions and displayed image brightness; determining low luminance conditions based on the detected ambient light conditions and the detected display brightness; determining changes in color appearance to be applied to the displayed images based on the low luminance conditions, a model of photopic vision of the human eye, and a model of mesopic vision of the human eye; and applying the determined changes in the color appearance to image data using an image processor (130) that alters the image data for the projected images.

摘要: A method of using an image capture device to identify range information for objects in a scene, includes providing an image capture device having at least one image sensor, a lens and a coded aperture, storing in a memory a set of blur kernels derived from range calibration data for the coded aperture, capturing a first and second image of the scene having a plurality of objects, corresponding to first and second optical magnifications, respectively. The method further includes providing a set of deblurred images using the capture images from each magnification and each of the blur kernels from the stored set, and using the set of deblurred images to determine the range information for the objects in the scene.

摘要: A method of using an image capture device to identify range information for objects in a scene includes providing an image capture device having an image sensor, a coded aperture having circular symmetry, and a lens; storing in a memory a set of blur parameters derived from range calibration data; capturing images of the scene having a plurality of objects; producing a set of reference edge images using the blur parameters from the stored set; providing a set of deblurred images using the captured image, the reference edges and each of the blur parameters from the stored set; and using the set of deblurred images to determine the range information for the objects in the scene.

摘要: A white-light electroluminescent device having an adjustable color temperature substantially on a predetermined range of a Planckian locus within the 1976 Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) uniform chromaticity scale diagram. According to one embodiment, a first light-emitting element having a fixed ratio of at least two different species of emitters combined to produce a set of chromaticity coordinates at a predetermined white point substantially on the Planckian locus. A second light-emitting element having at least a single species of emitters produces a set of chromaticity coordinates. The set of chromaticity coordinates are positioned along a projected line extending from the Planckian locus and through the chromaticity coordinates of the first light-emitting layer. A controller adjusts the voltage or current associated with the first and second light-emitting elements to provide white light with a predetermined range of chromaticity coordinates substantially on the Planckian locus.

摘要: A solid-state area illumination system includes multiple LED devices, each LED device is formed on a separate substrate and each LED device emits differently colored light at different angles relative to the substrate. The peak frequencies of each color of light differ by at least the smallest of the full width half maximums of the frequency distributions of emitted light. Also included is a support for positioning each of the LED devices at multiple orientations relative to an area of illumination upon a surface, so that any point within the area of illumination will receive multiple colors of light from more than one of the LED devices at different angles. Each LED device includes one or more light-emitting elements, each light-emitting element having multiple sizes of core/shell quantum-dot emitters formed in a common polycrystalline semiconductor matrix.

摘要: A white-light-emitting electroluminescent device includes light-emitting elements for emitting different colors of light, wherein one of the light-emitting elements has a luminous efficacy greater than the luminous efficacy of at least one of the other light-emitting elements. The different colors of light combine to form white light. Also included is a driver for receiving a color signal representing a relative luminance and color produced by the electroluminescent device. The driver is responsive to a converted control signal when controlling the color accuracy of the light produced by the light-emitting elements to ultimately reduce the power consumption of the white light-emitting electroluminescent device.

摘要: An area illumination inorganic electro-luminescent device including a substrate; and an array of one or more commonly addressed, light-emitting elements. Each commonly-addressed, light-emitting element includes a first electrode layer formed over the substrate, one or more light-emitting layers formed over the first electrode layer and a second electrode layer formed over the light-emitting layer. The light-emitting layers include multiple core/shell quantum dot emitters formed in a common polycrystalline semiconductor matrix, and a number of different core/shell quantum dot emitters emit light with a spectral power distribution having a peak and a FWHM bandwidth, such that the peak wavelengths differ by an amount less than or equal to the average FWHM bandwidth of the different core/shell quantum dot emitters within the range of 460 to 670 nm.

摘要: A full-color, light-emitting display device has improved efficiency with a large color gamut. The full-color, light-emitting display device has a plurality of pixels, each pixel having four or more colors of light-emitting elements. Three of the colors of light-emitting elements emits red, green, and blue light, and at least one of the colors of light-emitting elements emitting light is perceived to be within the gamut defined by the chromaticity coordinates of the red, green, and blue colored light-emitting elements. The light-emitting elements for emitting red, green, and blue colors of light each comprise a different species of inorganic light-emitting particles for emitting a different color of light. Each of the red, green, and blue species produces light having an emission spectrum with a full-width, half-maximum of less than or equal to 70 nm.
