摘要： An apparatus for holding a solid compact medicament has relatively displaceable, substantially planar first and second members having opposed edge portions. Each edge portion has at least one notch having an interior wall. Housing is provided for holding members in a substantially co-planar relationship. When members are displaced, preferably along a fixed axis, to a first position, the interior walls of the opposed, aligned notches define an open gripping jaw for receiving and subsequently releasing the caplet. Further, when members are displaced to a second position, the open gripping jaw then partially closes, thereby capturing the caplet securely within the notches in the gripping jaw for processing.

摘要： An apparatus (10) for orienting and loading solid compact medicaments, such as solid compact medicaments (A), into a carrier device (C) comprises a feeder (12) having a plurality of elongated first channels (20) through which the solid compact medicaments travel with an acute angle relative to a predetermined orientation of the carrier device (C). An orienting member (32) cooperating with the feeder (12) reorients the solid compact medicaments to the predetermined orientation as they exit the feeder (12). In an alternative embodiment, a pitch changing means (42) in fluid communications with the orienting means (32) provides for final orientation of the solid compact medicaments prior to loading in the carrier device (C).

摘要： An apparatus for holding and subsequently releasing a solid compact medicament, such as a caplet. The apparatus has a first and a second member each having an upper and a lower surface. The first and second members each have at least one notch opposed to each other and correspondingly aligned and extending beyond the respective upper and lower surfaces of each member. The first and second members have chambers adjacent to each of the notches, and each of the notches is moveable in the respective chamber of the opposing member so that the opposing notches form a gripping jaw that can move between a first and a second position. When the gripping jaw is in an open first position, it can receive a solid compact medicament, and in a closed second position, the gripping jaw can grip the medicament.

摘要： An apparatus for capturing and holding a solid compact medicament, such as a caplet, has first, second and third members each having a surface having at least one throughole therein. Througholes have a diameter somewhat greater than the thickness of the solid compact medicament and the interior wall of the througholes 1as an axial length smaller than the length of the solid compact medicament. First and third members are fixed relative to one another. Second member is displaceable between first and third members between a first position wherein the througholes in members are aligned thereby defining an open gripping jaw for receiving and subsequently releasing the solid compact medicament, to a second position wherein the second member firmly engages a circumferential portion of solid compact medicament thereby engagingly capturing solid compact medicament in partially closed gripping jaw for processing.
