摘要： A method for bending a metal sheet along a selected line to provide a smooth bending edge. The metal sheet is indented along the selected line to produce a groove in one face and a bead in the opposite face. The metal sheet is then shaped into sections having a common bending edge coincident with the selected line and such that the inside of the bending edge is formed by the bead and the outside of the bending edge is formed by the groove.

摘要： A prefabricated, insulated building panel formed from an outer facing sheet which may be profiled and an inner facing sheet, wherein the opposed first edges of the facing sheets are connected by an S-shaped non-metallic flexible strip, and the opposite or opposed second edges of the facing sheets are spacedapart. An insulating core, for example, foamed-in-situ polyurethane, bonds the facing sheets one to the other and serves as thermal and sound insulation and to rigidify the panel. Where the outer facing sheet is profiled, the insulating core may fill less than the entire space between the facing sheets. A tongue and a groove are presented along the opposite longitudinal sides of the panel. A segment of the flexible strip is presented within the groove. The tongue and a groove are arranged to provide a laterally adjustable, weather-tight joint between adjacent panels.

摘要： A sheet metal decking unit useful in the construction of a composite floor. The sheet metal decking unit exhibits substantial wet strength (ability to support wet concrete between spaced supports); has long span capabilities; and is useful in single and multiple span applications. The sheet metal decking unit presents hold-down elements above and below the geometric mid-plane of the decking unit, and presents shear-resisting elements below the geometric mid-plane, which cooperate in the composite floor construction to achieve the composite load carrying capability of the floor. The decking unit is fully nestable in jam-free relation with others of the decking unit for packaging, storage and shipment. A side joint of the overlap type is provided which is laterally adjustable to facilitate spreading or drawing together of the decking units thereby to accommodate camber or sweep in the decking units, deviations from the specified spacing between the supporting beams, and the like.

摘要： A flashing member for use between the confronting transverse panel ends of upper and lower building panels. The flashing member has a generally Z-shaped transverse profile and includes a horizontal leg, an upwardly extending rear leg and a downwardly extending profiled forward leg. When installed, the horizontal leg is positioned between the transverse panel ends such that the rear leg overlaps the inboard face of the upper panel and the forward leg overlaps the outboard or exposed face of the lower panel. The profile of the forward leg corresponds to the profile of the exposed panel face. The rear leg is provided with a channel for receiving a sealant. The opposite ends of the rear leg provide a laterally adjustable overlapping and interlocking connection between adjacent flashing members.

摘要： A double-skin building construction panel having a foam core and having an outer facing sheet laterally offset from and spaced apart from an inner facing sheet. Each panel presents an overlapping edge portion along one side and an overlapped edge portion along its opposite side. The panels are adapted to be assembled in lapped relation without externally visible fasteners. Mating elements in the outer facing sheets provide a positive mechanical connection of adjacent outer facing sheets and provide for lateral adjustment in the position each panel relative to the previously erected panel. The arrangement is such that during erection, the panels may be gathered or spread apart to conform the coverage provided by all of the panels with that required by the structural framework.

摘要： An insulated building panel unit consisting of a metal liner sheet, a layer of rigid foamed plastic material selfadheared to the liner sheet and a facing sheet adhesively secured to the layer of foamed plastic material. Selected regions of the surface of the foamed plastic material are modified to provide essentially flat surfaces for adhesive bonding with essentially flat surfaces of the facing sheet. A method is described for making the present insulated building panel unit.

摘要： Fiber-reinforced plastic structural members are fabricated with at least one lengthwise cell. The members are made from two component elements, each having contigouos surfaces in the assembly which surfaces become coalesced in the integral structural member. One of the components is formed, partially gelled, and before complete gelation, is engaged with the other component which is at that time ungelled. With the two components thus assembled, the overall member is cured to produce a unitary structural member having at least one lengthwise cell. The process is especially useful in producing components for operating louvers.
