摘要: In at least one implementation, a structural rail for a vehicle includes a main body and a front portion. The main body has an upper wall, a lower wall, an inner sidewall and an outer sidewall spaced from the inner sidewall. The front portion has a rear end adjacent to the second end of the main body and a front end spaced from the rear end. The main body has a first bend between the first end and second end so that a portion of the main body is angled outwardly and an included angle of less than 180 degrees is provided in the outer sidewall. The rail also includes a second bend between the first bend and the front end, and the second bend further angles at least part of the front portion outwardly relative to the outwardly angled portion of the main body.

摘要: A frame system for a vehicle including a high-voltage component that includes a pair of spaced apart primary rails that extend from a front of the vehicle toward a rear of the vehicle and a pair of longitudinally extending sills. An impact support rail extends outward from each of the primary rails, and connects each respective primary rail to one of the sills. A cross-member extends outward from each of the primary rails, and connects each respective primary rail to one of the sills, and a laterally extending frame support member extends between the sills at a location between the impact support rails and the cross-members. A pocket is collectively formed between each primary rail, the respective impact support rail, the respective sill, the respective cross-member, and the laterally extending frame support member, and the pocket is configured for receipt and protection of the high-voltage component.

摘要: A vehicle crossmember assembly including a pair of main rails, a crossmember, and a pair of pedestals is provided. The main rails are laterally spaced apart. The crossmember is transverse to the main rails. The pedestals extend between and connect lateral ends of the crossmember to the main rails. Each pedestal has a lower end disposed adjacent to the crossmember and an upper end that projects upwardly from the crossmember. Fasteners connect the pedestals to the main rails. Each pedestal has a sleeve disposed at the upper end. Each sleeve has a sleeve wall defining a bore that receives one of the fasteners and each sleeve has a slit in the sleeve wall. Each slit provides a release path through which one of the fasteners can pull through the sleeve wall during an impact event, allowing the pedestals to detach from the main rails.
