    摘要: The apparatus of the present invention provides a stator for an electric motor. The apparatus includes a plurality of stator components assembled together to form a generally annular stator core. A wire is wrapped around at least a portion of the stator core to form a stator winding. A first generally annular end plate and a second generally annular end plate are mounted to axially opposite sides of the stator core such that the stator core is axially trapped and retained therebetween. A fastener applies a clamping load to the first and second end plates such that the stator core is compressed therebetween. The clamping load from the fastener is applied directly to the first and second end plates which distribute the clamping load to the stator core such that the plurality of components are held together without the fastener directly applying the clamping load to the stator core. A corresponding method for providing a stator is similarly provided.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a cooling system and method for the concentrated motor stator windings of an electric motor. The cooling system and method provides coolant directly onto the motor stator windings and between each adjacent stator winding. The motor housing assists in distributing coolant between each stator winding of the electric motor assembly. Moreover, an insulated sheet and/or tube is insertable between the concentrated motor stator windings. Each is configurable to direct coolant directly on to the stator windings.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for assembling a spline-type connection wherein a plurality of angularly spaced spline teeth on a first member project radially from a circular edge thereof and are disposed in an imaginary annulus concentric with the circular edge, a staging annulus corresponding in size to the imaginary annulus is formed on a second member at one end of and perpendicular to a cylindrical wall on the second member adapted to slidably receive the circular edge of the first member, a frusto-conical centering guide shoulder is formed on the second member around the staging annulus and extends longitudinally outboard from the staging annulus, and a plurality of spline grooves are formed in the cylindrical wall and intersect the staging annulus at a corresponding plurality of notches angularly spaced to register with the spline teeth. During assembly, the first member is advanced to a staged position on the second member wherein the spline teeth rest on the staging annulus and is then rotated in the staged position to register the spline teeth with the notches to permit advancement of the spline teeth along the spline grooves.

    摘要: A planet gear set and method of assembling the carrier on the sun and ring gear particularly suited for automation of the carrier assembly operation. The sun gear of the planetary set has a staging annulus formed on one end thereof defined between the addendum and dedendum circles of the sun gear teeth. The sun gear also has a frustoconical concentricity chamfer formed on the same end with one edge contiguous with dedendum circle edge of the staging annulus. The carrier, with the planet gears thereon, is aligned on the axis of rotation of the sun gear and advanced toward the same. If the sun gear is eccentric relative to its axis of rotation, the planet gears engage the concentricity chamfer and cam the sun gear to an aligned position which is achieved when the carrier achieves a staged position relative to the sun gear. In the staged position, the addendum circles of the planet gears are tangent to the dedendum circle edge of the staging annulus. The carrier is then mildly biased toward the sun gear and rotated, whereupon the teeth of the planet gears sequentially achieve meshing engagement with the sun gear teeth.

The stator assembly includes at least one stator segment having a first end member having a stator tooth and at least one of a stator shoe and a back iron. A winding generally circumscribes the stator tooth of the first end member and the stator tooth of the second end member. The ratio gears that establish the lowest forward ratios are fully disengageable from their respective countershafts.
