This application provides an isolation transformer. The isolation transformer is applicable to a power converter, the power converter further includes a first power conversion module and a second power conversion module, the isolation transformer includes a high-voltage winding, a low-voltage winding, and a solid insulation housing. The high-voltage winding has a solid insulation layer and the solid insulation housing has an opening surface, the opening surface faces the second power conversion module, the solid insulation housing covers the low-voltage winding and the high-voltage winding that has the solid insulation layer, a conducting layer or a semi-conducting layer is disposed on the solid insulation housing, and the conducting layer or the semi-conducting layer of the solid insulation housing is grounded. In this application, a volume of the isolation transformer can be reduced, power density of the power converter can be improved, and low costs and high applicability can be ensured.

A novel and useful radio frequency (RF) front end module (FEM) circuit that provides high linearity and power efficiency and meets the requirements of modern wireless communication standards such as 802.11 WLAN, 3G and 4G cellular standards, Bluetooth, ZigBee, etc. The configuration of the FEM circuit permits the use of common, relatively low cost semiconductor fabrication techniques such as standard CMOS processes. The FEM circuit includes a power amplifier made up of one or more sub-amplifiers having high and low power circuits and whose outputs are combined to yield the total desired power gain. An integrated multi-tap transformer having primary and secondary windings arranged in a novel configuration provide efficient power combining and transfer to the antenna of the power generated by the individual sub-amplifiers.

When performing interleaved switching, a power generation system may include chokes for filtering out a high-frequency ripple. However, because the chokes are interconnected, a common mode current can flow between the different parallel converters. Instead of connecting all the outputs of a parallel converter to the same choke, the same phase of each of the parallel converters is sent to one of the chokes. For example, the first phase signals are sent to a first choke, the second phase signals are sent to a second choke, and so forth. By doing so, air gaps in the chokes can be manipulated in order to provide a different inductance for the common mode current than a grid current. For example, the air gaps may be arranged such that the inductance corresponding to the common mode current is greater than the inductance corresponding to the grid current.

A switched-capacitor circuit has two capacitors and two MOSFETs that cross-couple the capacitors, connecting the anode of one to the cathode of the other, and vice-versa. When either MOSFET is on, the capacitors are in series; the order alternates as the MOSFETs alternate. A reversing cyclical voltage suitable as a primary drive for a transformer is generated. If the MOSFETs alternate with no dead-time, a square-wave excitation is generated. With off-time, a pwm excitation is generate. Charge is maintained on the switched-capacitors using a symmetrical common-mode inductor. A bifilar winding is center-tap as its input, and the ends of the bifilar winding are connected to the capacitors. The capacitors are effectively in parallel. Because the charging current flows and returns through each leg of the inductor equally, it cannot magnetize the inductor core or cause any flux change. Because any voltages induced in the windings are common-mode, flux change in the core does not affect the charging current. The ac voltage generated when the capacitors switch is across the full inductor. Not only does the inductance attenuate any noise, the center-tap is between equal and opposite negative and positive voltages, which cancel. There is very little noise at the input. The circuit is reciprocal, so it can be used to rectify a transformer output. Two can be used as a bi-directional transformer isolated power converter. Several modules using 1 to 1 transformers can be stacked for a power converter having a higher ratio of input to output voltage.

A method and apparatus for forming a direct current power supply. An apparatus comprises a transformer and a rectifier. The transformer is figured to output a plurality of phase-shifted alternating currents in response to receiving a plurality of alternating currents. The plurality of alternating currents and the plurality of phase-shifted alternating currents form a plurality of input alternating currents that are offset relative to each other by one-twelfth of a cycle in phase. The rectifier is configured to form a direct current power supply having a common mode voltage reduced to zero within selected tolerances in response to receiving the plurality of input alternating currents.
