    摘要: An HVAC comfort system operates in a cabin of a vehicle. A plurality of vehicle status parameters are measured including a cabin temperature and a seat occupancy configuration. The method detects whether the vehicle status parameters correspond to a predetermined override state. When the vehicle status parameters correspond to the predetermined override state, then a respective mandated setting is automatically activated. Unless prevented by the mandated setting, one of a plurality of HVAC modes is automatically selected in response to the cabin temperature and other inputs, wherein the HVAC modes include an extremity heating mode and a panel circulation mode. The extremity heating mode is comprised of automatic activation of a touchpoint heated surface and other outputs in response to the seat occupancy configuration. The panel circulation mode is comprised of automatic activation of one or more zones for convective cooling in response to the seat occupancy configuration and may include activating other cooling devices.

    摘要: An air duct for an automotive vehicle is blow molded with an elongated, hollow structural member to be used as a portion of a body of the vehicle. The structural member has an inner wall defining an elongated cavity communicating with first and second access holes at respective longitudinal positions along the structural member. A parison comprised of a thermally insulating material is inserted into the internal cavity. A source of inflation gas is connected to a mouth portion or the parison. The parison is heated and inflated within the internal cavity to an expanded shape to form the air duct disposed against the inner wall and spanning the first and second access holes. The air duct at one of the access holes is configured as an air inlet. The air duct at the other one of the access holes is configured as an air outlet.

    摘要: A recyclable seal is formed on the surface of a climate control system door by placing the door into a mold having channels for receiving a foammelt, forming the foammelt by melting a solid sealant material and mixing a foaming agent therewith, supplying the foammelt mixture under a predetermined pressure to the mold so as to flow through the channels and through openings in the door to form an interconnected seal on opposite sides thereof, venting the channels along substantially the entire length thereof so as to maintain a relatively low differential pressure across the foammelt mixture to force the foaming agent to a center section of the seal so that a gas pocket is formed therein, and cooling the mold while supplying the foammelt mixture thereto.

    摘要: A heat exchanger assembly for an automotive vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a generally rectangular heat exchanger core defining four generally orthogonal ends and a housing configured to receive the heat exchanger core therein. The housing bas a plurality of walls disposed around the ends of the heat exchanger core. At least two of the walls and at least two of the ends cooperate to define a sealing space therebetween. Each of the at least two walls has an injection port provided therein for receiving a seal precursor material into the sealing space. The assembly also includes a seal formed from the precursor material in the sealing space, the seal substantially filling the space.
