摘要: Apparatus and systems may operate to enable positron emission imaging with a unitary chamber body having an open end that defines a hollow interior portion shaped to completely contain a flexible sleeve that is used to cover a core sample when the sleeve is seated within the hollow interior portion. An end cap may be formed to engage the open end of the chamber body, which is configured to attenuate gamma rays approximately eight times less than stainless steel, while supporting a pressure differential of at least 3 MPa between the chamber inlet and the outlet when fluid carrying a radioactive tag to generate the gamma rays flows through the hollow interior portion and the core sample via the inlet and the outlet. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

摘要: Improved methods and apparatus for completing a subterranean zone penetrated by a wellbore are provided. The improved methods basically comprise the steps of placing a sand control screen (e.g., screens, screened pipes, perforated liners, prepacked screens, etc.) and an outer shroud assembly mounted over the sand screen in the wellbore adjacent the zone to be completed, the shroud having perforated and blank (non-perforated) segments with the blank segments corresponding to selected intervals of the wellbore, for example problem zones such as shale streaks or isolated zones where flows are restricted by mechanical seals or packers, and injecting particulate material into the wellbore, whereby gravel packing takes place in the remaining length of the wellbore/shroud annulus without voids. The inner annulus between the shroud and screen provides an alternate flow path for the slurry to bypass the blocked intervals and continue with its placement. Mechanical seals or packers may be used in combination with the shroud and associated sand screen. The method is also applicable to placing gravel packs in a cased and perforated well drilled in the zone.

摘要: A self-contained portable unit for producing a mixture of substances in response to two separate flows includes a portable trailer upon which a holding tank is mounted. Various additive channels are maintained on the trailer for introducing additives, at selectable concentrations or rates, into a first flow which occurs through an inlet conduit connected to an input of the holding tank. Connected to an output of the holding tank is an outlet conduit to which an external blender device can be connected. The trailer has additional additive channels contained thereon for introducing further additives, at selectable concentrations or rates, into a second flow between the holding tank and the external device. Control of the additives is maintained by a microcomputer-based controller or a manual, back-up controller, whichever is switchably selected for each additive channel.

摘要: An apparatus (110) and method for treating an interval of a wellbore comprises an outer tubular (112) disposed within the wellbore. A sand control screen (118) is disposed within the outer tubular (112). A treatment fluid passageway (144) is formed between the sand control screen (118) and outer tubular (112). In addition, a production pathway (130) is formed between the sand control screen (118) and outer tubular (112). When the apparatus (110) is in an operable position, the region between the outer tubular (112) and the wellbore serves as a primary path for delivery of a treatment fluid, the production pathway (130) serves as a secondary path for delivery of the treatment fluid if the primary path becomes blocked and the treatment fluid passageway (144) serves as a tertiary path for delivery of the treatment fluid if the primary and secondary paths become blocked.

摘要: An apparatus and method for gravel packing an interval of a wellbore comprises an outer tubular (112), which forms a first annulus with the wellbore, and an sand control screen (118) disposed within the outer tubular (112) forming a second annulus therebetween. Within the second annulus is an axially extending production pathway (146) and an axially extending slurry passageway (144), which is defined between a sheet member (140) positioned on the sand control screen (118) and a channel (132). The outer tubular (112) has outlets (116) that are substantially aligned with outlets (142) of the channel (132). When a fluid slurry containing gravel is injected through the slurry passageway (144), the fluid slurry exits through the outlets (116, 142) leaving gravel in the first annulus, thereby gravel packing the interval.
