Abstract:
A phased array ultrasonic probe may be mounted to a component to be inspected for wall thickness on an apparatus that includes a split ring adapted to be magnetically held in place on the component. In particular, the probe may be mounted to a carriage connected to the split ring in a manner that allows the carriage to rotate around the split ring while the probe is in operation. Between the probe and the component, a transducer shoe defining, by a flexible membrane, a cavity and an aperture. Conveniently, the construction of the flexible membrane allows wall thickness measurements to be acquired in portions of the component that have complex topography, such as welds. The apparatus is installed on an adaptor assembly for inspection of straight section of pipes. This adaptor assembly is not used in absence of straight section. By acquiring data from multiple output pulse transmitted at multiple incidence angles, processing software may conveniently produce an accurate wall thickness map of the area of interest on the component.

Abstract:
An elongate, malleable ablation probe including an elongate malleable body (38) and a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart electrodes (40) disposed at a distal end thereof. The electrodes (40) are separated one from another by insulative material. In one embodiment, a malleable insert is provided for insertion into a flexible longitudinal sleeve, the flexible longitudinal sleeve conforming to the shape of the malleable insert upon such insertion. In other embodiments, a malleable core is surrounded by a flexible body, the electrodes (40) being mounted to the body.
Abstract:
The locking member of a ZIF socket, which is movable between a locked position, in which high contact forces are present between contact springs within the socket and pins extending from an electronic module into the socket, and an unlocked position, in which the pins are released from the contact springs, is held in the locked position by means of a portion of a clamping spring inserted into a gap between the locking member and a portion of the housing of the ZIF socket. The clamping spring also holds a heat sink in place on the electronic module.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a bushing for processing molten glass. The bushing has a bottom wall provided with orifices to deliver downwardly flowing streams of molten glass, side walls and end walls. The bushing is provided with oppositely arranged terminals to receive electrical conductors for heating the bushing. The end walls of the bushing and the terminal means are moulded integrally from rhodium or platinum/rhodium alloy.
