Abstract:
A routing method of a wireless network system is provided. Paths of the wireless network system are divided into down-stream and up-stream paths. The up-stream paths are reset for each period, or whenever a network is changed, or whenever transmission of data fails more than a predetermined number of times. Accordingly, it is possible to secure an average lifetime of a wireless network system by previously preventing a bottleneck from occurring at a specific node, increase a transmission speed of data by reducing the hop count to the sink node connected to the information collector, and reduce power consumption of a battery.
Abstract:
A recording medium and a recording apparatus for storing manufacturer information for supporting specific functions for each manufacturer and a method therefor. A reproducing apparatus for reproducing manufacturer information for supporting specific functions and a method therefor is also provided. If a recording apparatus modifies the contents of the recording medium, then it should record its manufacturer's identification code. A recording apparatus/reproducing apparatus should check the identification code on the recording medium before using its own manufacture information item for some specific function. Also, it is possible to reduce the time required to determine whether the manufacturer information items are effective.
Abstract:
A recording medium includes a program containing video data and/or audio data and navigation information which defines a thumbnail, wherein the thumbnail relates to the program and is reproducible as moving pictures. The recording medium may include a plurality of programs and the thumbnail may identify or represent one or more of the programs. By assigning a predetermined interval of a bit stream corresponding to a program as a thumbnail, the recording medium having the thumbnail thereon, that can be reproduced as moving pictures, can be obtained.
Abstract:
A recording medium for storing information for still pictures, and a recording/reproducing method and apparatus therefor, stores data for a plurality of still pictures and audio data added thereto in one file or a space having a logically one-dimensional order, rather than in each file, and still picture group information for separating the still picture data into a predetermined maximum number of groups in order to manage the still pictures at a group level. The still picture group information includes general information for still picture groups, and information for still pictures in each still picture group. The general information for each still picture group includes the start position of a first still picture in each still picture group, and the information for still pictures in each still picture group includes the sizes of video data and audio data for each still picture.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting and receiving data for a wireless sensor network system is disclosed. Transmission and reception intervals for a small amount of data and for a large amount of data are set. A sensor node checks data requested to be transmitted. If the data is a small amount of data, the sensor node transmits the data to a higher or lower communication node during the transmission interval for a small amount of data. If the data is a large amount of data, the sensor node divides the large amount of data and then transmitting resulting data to the higher or lower communication node during the transmission interval for a large amount of data. The sensor node receives the small amount of data during the reception interval for a small amount of data and the large amount of data during the reception interval for a large amount of data.
Abstract:
A method for updating firmware of a plurality of nodes constituting a wireless sensor network is disclosed. The wireless sensor network includes a server, a gateway and the plurality of nodes. The firmware to be updated is transmitted from the server through the gateway to an uppermost node. The firmware is sequentially transmitted to the plurality of nodes from the uppermost node to a lowermost node using wireless communication, and the respective nodes, which have received the firmware, record the firmware in their own memory. When the recording of the firmware is completed in all the nodes, boot programs of the respective nodes are run and the firmware, stored in the memory, is recorded in program memory, the firmware recorded in the nodes are executed, and the nodes constitute a new network while communicating with the peripheral nodes thereof.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a wireless sensor network with a linear structure capable of bidirectional communication. The wireless sensor network includes a plurality of nodes linearly connected from a sink node to a terminal node by connecting each node to a single upper-level node and a single lower-level node, each node has an active period for transmitting/receiving data to/from its upper-level node and lower-level node, the active period includes a downstream duration for transmitting data/commands from the sink node to the terminal node and an upstream duration for transmitting data/commands from the terminal node to the sink node, and each of the upstream and downstream durations sequentially includes RX, TX, and ACK intervals, so that bidirectional communication between the sink node and the terminal node can be performed within a single active period.
Abstract:
A recording medium for storing information for still pictures, and a recording and/or reproducing method and apparatus therefor. A writeable and rewriteable recording medium stores data for a plurality of still pictures and audio data added thereto in one file or a space having a logically one-dimensional order, rather than in each file, and still picture group information for separating the still picture data into within a predetermined maximum number of groups in order to manage the still pictures at a group level is then stored on the recording medium. Thus, large-capacity still picture data and audio data added thereto can be recorded and/or reproduced using a minimum amount of information. The still picture group information includes general information for still picture groups, and information for still pictures in each still picture group. The general information for each still picture group includes the start position of a first still picture in each still picture group (the start position of each still picture group). The information for still pictures in each still picture group includes the sizes of video data and audio data for each still picture. Therefore, effective management of information is allowed.

Abstract:
A recordable and/or rewriteable recording medium for storing still picture data, and recording and/or reproducing method and apparatus therefor. The recording medium stores still picture group information for grouping a plurality of still pictures in order to manage the still picture at a group level, and stores audio group information for grouping additional audio data added to the still picture data after the still picture data are recorded. Therefore, large-capacity still picture data and additional audio data added thereto can be recorded using a minimum amount of management information. Further, during reproduction, data can be displayed and edited in units of the respective still pictures. Also, it is possible to cope with after-recording of the audio data.
