    摘要: A driving method for a pnpn semiconductor device includes the steps of applying a voltage higher than a holding voltage of the pnpn semiconductor device to an anode electrode thereof, supplying a control signal light to the pnpn semiconductor device to set the pnpn semiconductor device into an ON state, and supplying an information signal light to the pnpn semiconductor device to emit an output light. The control signal light and the information signal light are time-sequentially supplied to the pnpn semiconductor device under the voltage applied thereto. An apparatus for carrying out the driving method includes a light information transmission input line that is branched into a plurality of lines, where a light detection circuit is coupled to at least one of the lines. A synchronous driving circuit applies voltage to the pnpn semiconductor device which is coupled to one of the other lines of the information transmission input line. The pnpn semiconductor device is driven by receiving light from the input line when the light detection circuit detects an address of the pnpn semiconductor device included in a light supplied from the light information transmission input line.

    摘要: A ring laser gyro wherein a first and a second laser beam propagate with propagating directions different with each other comprises electrode areas on an optical waveguide configuring the ring laser and controls an current injected or a voltage applied to the electrode areas, wherein the oscillating frequencies of the first and second laser beams are different from each other, thereby causing an increase and a decrease in the beat frequency enabling to detect the direction and the speed of a rotation at the same time. With regards to a method for detecting a rotation, the anode of the laser gyro is connected to an operational amplifier. Since the signal outputted from the operational amplifier has a frequency corresponding to the angular speed, it is converted into the voltage by a frequency-voltage conversion circuit so as to detect a rotation. This same method can be used for other types of gyros such as a semiconductor laser gyro, a gas lager gyro and the like.

The charge emitting layer absorbs radioactive rays generated by a radiation source, converts the rays into electric charges, and emits the converted charges. The electric field has an intensity satisfying a lower limit of a specification value of a carrier capturing efficiency and an upper limit of a specification value of a dark current density. A dark current at a trap level can be lowered, a carrier capturing efficiency can be improved, and radioactive rays can be detected with small noises and at a high sensitivity. It is possible to reliably detect incident radioactive rays and form an image of incident radioactive rays.
