    摘要: Abstract of the DisclosureThis invention provides a novel polypeptide useful in the field of medicines, a novel DNA which encodes the novel polypeptide, a recombinant DNA molecule which contains the novel DNA, a transformant transformed with the novel DNA or the recombinant DNA molecule, a process for the purification of the novel polypeptide, a process for the production of the novel polypeptide, an antibody which recognize the novel polypeptide, an oligonucleotide complementary to the novel DNA and a novel screening method. Particularly this invention provides a novel polypeptide which is Fas ligand or a fragment thereof. This novel polypeptide can be used as an effective ingredient of a medicament for regulating the apoptosis in a living body. This novel polypeptide is obtained by identifying a DNA fragment which encodes the novel polpeptide, transforming a desired host with a recombinant DNA molecule which contains the DNA fragment and purifying the novel polypeptide produced by the resulting transformant. This novel polypeptide has a cytoplasmic domain, a transmembrane domain and extracellular domain and takes part in apoptosis.

A magneto resistive head to be in contact with a running magnetic tape includes a substrate, an insulating layer, a magneto resistive element located in the insulating layer, at least one shield layer for shielding the magneto resistive element from magnetic fields, and a conductive layer that has a conductive surface being in contact with the magnetic tape and that is electrically connected to the substrate. In this head, static electricity accumulated on the magnetic tap is discharged through the conductive layer and the substrate.

    摘要: An apparatus is provided for inspecting a recording medium, for thereby detecting a defect in the recording medium, in which the apparatus includes inspection subjects made up of first to fourth recording media on which audio signals having a constant frequency are recorded. The apparatus further includes first to fourth non-defective drives for reading out signals from the first to fourth recording media and for outputting signals therefrom, a detector for detecting the audio signals from among the signals output from the first to fourth drives, and a determining means for determining that the first to fourth recording media are defective when the audio signals output from the detector deviate from the constant frequency.

    摘要: A composite magnetic head comprising a DC-erasing head, which is slidably contact with a driving magnetic tape, and which DC-erases a servo band of the magnetic tape in such a manner that the direction of the magnetization of the servo band the servo band is directed towards one direction of the lengthwise direction of the magnetic tape; a servo writing head, which is slidably contact with the magnetic tape, and which writes a servo signal thereon so that the direction of the magnetization of the servo band is directed toward the reverse direction to the direction directed by the DC erasing head; and an AC-erasing head, which is contact with the magnetic tape, and which AC-erases the magnetization of the data band of the magnetic tape is disclosed. The servo writing head and the AC-erasing head are provided at downstream of the driving magnetic tape relative to the DC-erasing head, and the DC-erasing head, the servo writing head and the AC-erasing head are unified with each other.
