The method comprises: detecting an actuation of a mode switch actuator associated with switching operational modes of the apparatus; determining a switching direction by determining whether the actuation is associated with a first switching direction or a second switching direction; determining a current operational mode; determining a new operational mode considering the switching direction and the current operational mode; and switching operational modes of the portable electronic apparatus from the current operational mode to the new operational mode. Corresponding portable electronic apparatuses and computer program product are also presented.

A device for applying a time-varying magnetic field to a human or animal body for therapeutic purposes comprising a magnetic body (72), housed in a free moving member (80), which is it-self housed within the device. The device is powered by a small electric motor that drives the free moving member (80) and magnetic body (72) to rotate about an axis of first rotation. The magnetic body is further caused to rotate around an axis of second rotation through angular forces imparted on it either mechanically or magnetically. Mechanical angular force is imparted by a gear and tooth arrangement or other similar tactile interaction with a roller member (106). Magnetic angular force is imparted by stationary magnets (110) as the magnetic body (72) rotates past them. The two rotational movements of the magnetic body (72) are oblique to one another and produce both a time-varying field of magnetic flux density and a time varying field of angular flux displacement.

A polyurethane adhesive which is useful in bonding porous and non-porous surfaces is provided. The adhesive is especially useful in bonding windshield glass into automotive frames under a variety of environmental conditions, particularly in after market windshield replacement applications. The polyurethane includes at least one urethane prepolymer which is based on at least one thermoplastic polyol. In one embodiment, the urethane prepolymer may be formed from one or more polyisocyanates, one or more polyetherpolyols and one or more thermoplastic polyesterpolyols, wherein the prepolymer has a free isocyanate content of from about 0.6 to about 3.5% by weight, based on the weight of the polyurethane. In another embodiment, a one-part adhesive composition is provided which includes an isocyanate-functional and thermoplastic polyurethane prepolymer having a free isocyanate content of from about 0.6 to about 3.5% by weight, based on the weight of the polyurethane, and a combination of several catalysts which are capable of catalyzing the reaction of isocyanate moieties with isocyanate-reactive moieties while providing less temperature dependent catalyzing of the reaction between isocyanate moieties and water. Also provided is a process for bonding two or more substrates together utilizing the polyurethane adhesive. In automotive windshield replacement applications, the polyurethane adhesive allows for a sufficient working time and development of green strength to provide a safe drive-away time within 1 hour at a temperature from about 0 to about 100° C.
