Abstract: A method for strengthening, toning, and firming muscle tissues, the method includes receiving parameters for operating a magnetic muscle stimulation device. The parameters include: a first waveform frequency; one or more pulse durations; a second waveform frequency that is non-zero; causing, a first alternating current having one or more first pulses to flow for a first length of time through a coil according to the first waveform frequency; causing, a second alternating current having one or more second pulses to flow through the coil for a second length of time according to the second waveform frequency lower than the first waveform frequency. The method includes repeating the causing of the first and second alternating currents for a plurality of iterations to provide a continuously pulsed time-varying magnetic field that alternates between the first and the second waveform frequencies to generate a treatment session.

Abstract: An ocular positioning system for use with a magnetic treatment apparatus for treating an eye of a subject is provided, where the magnetic treatment apparatus includes a magnetic coil for generating a magnetic field and an electric field. The ocular positioning system includes a housing having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the magnetic coil is disposed in the housing near the proximal end. A positioning member is at least partially attached to the housing proximal end, the positioning member including a base and an eyecup coupled thereon, where the eyecup is configured to receive an orbital region of the subject. At least one sensor is connected to the housing and in electrical communication with the magnetic coil, wherein when the at least one sensor detects the positioning member then the magnetic coil is capable of being activated for treatment.

Abstract: An erythrocyte de-aggregation system includes a band, including a strap and housing securing an iron-cored, micro-coil to an appendage, such as a wrist, of a subject to apply a PEMF into a target vessel in the vascular system of the subject. Typically, all of the blood circulates about the body within a matter of a few minutes, some within seconds, thus treating the entire bloodstream over time. The portable PEMF system intensifies both the concentration of electromagnetic flux per unit area, as well as the depth of penetration into the body. The portable PEMF systems relies on the body's circulatory system to eventually pass the body's entire volume of blood past it over a period of time.

Abstract: A magnetic field for application to body tissue is generated via a first inductor. Connecting circuitry, including at least first and second branches, is provided between a capacitor arrangement comprising at least a first capacitor, and the first inductor. A switch forming part of the first branch electrically connects the capacitor arrangement to the first inductor enabling electrical current to flow through the first branch and the first inductor, thereby causing the first inductor to generate the field. The current flowing through the first branch represents a first direction of flow between the capacitor arrangement and the first inductor. An electric component conducts current primarily in a forward direction. That component forms part of the second branch, enabling current to flow between the capacitor arrangement and the first inductor through the second branch. The flow in the forward direction represents a second direction opposite the first. The capacitor of the capacitor arrangement has a variable capacitance.

Abstract: Systems and methods for predicting and treating relapses for neurological conditions in accordance with embodiments of the invention are illustrated. One embodiment includes a method for predicting and treating a clinical neurological condition relapse. The method includes steps for selecting a threshold heart rate variability value for a patient suffering from a clinical neurological condition, monitoring, using a cardiac monitor, the heart rate variability of the patient over time, providing an indicator that a relapse is imminent when the heart rate variability of the patient falls below the threshold heart rate variability value, and treating the patient using a transcranial magnetic stimulation device by applying an accelerated theta burst stimulation protocol where the transcranial magnetic stimulation target is the left prefrontal dorsolateral cortex.

Abstract: An apparatus (1) for treating a cancerous target site is provided. The apparatus comprises an electromagnetic emitter (10) comprising one or more electrodes with an electrically insulating coating for preventing electrical contact between the electrodes and the target site. The electromagnetic emitter (10) is configured to provide a tumour treating field at a target site (30) via the one or more electrodes, the tumour treating field being non-ionizing alternating electromagnetic field having a frequency of between 10 kHz to 300 kHz; and further having a magnetic flux density of between 0.1 pT and 1 mT. The apparatus further comprises a heat source (20) configured to provide heating at the target site to cause hyperthermia at the target site. The apparatus is configured to apply the non-ionizing alternating electromagnetic field and the heating independently. The apparatus comprises an electronic controller for electronically controlling the electromagnetic emitter and the heat source.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, and implementations for inductive heating of a foreign metallic implant are disclosed. A foreign metallic implant may be heated via AMF pulses to ensure that the surface of the foreign metallic implant heats in a uniform manner. As the surface temperature of the foreign metallic implant rises, acoustic signatures may be detected by acoustic sensors that may indicate that tissue may be heating to an undesirable level approaching a boiling point. Once these acoustic signatures are detected, the AMF pulses may be shut off for a time period to allow the surface temperature of the implant to cool before applying additional AMF pulses. In this manner, the surface temperature of a foreign metallic implant may be uniformly heated to a temperature adequate to treat bacterial biofilm buildup on the surface of the foreign metallic implant without damaging surrounding tissue. The AMF pulse treatment can be combined with an antibacterial/antimicrobial treatment regimen to reduce the time and/or antibacterial dosage amount needed to remove the biofilm from the metallic implant.
