摘要: A method for operating a jetting module includes applying to a drop forming mechanism a sequence of drop formation waveforms in which a small-drop waveform applied after another identical small-drop waveform causes a small drop of volume Vs to be formed; applying a large-drop waveform after another identical large-drop waveform causes a large drop of volume VL to be formed, and applying a large-drop waveform adjacent to a small-drop waveform can be done in a way that produces a large drop having a volume VL2, where VL2 is different than VL and a small drop of volume VS2, where VS2 is different than Vs.

摘要: An aqueous inkjet black ink composition for use in continuous ink jet printing is provided comprising black pigment particles dispersed with a polymeric dispersant or self dispersing pigment particles without the need for a dispersant; and at least one surfactant, wherein the at least one surfactant is selected to provide the ink composition with a 10-ms dynamic surface tension of less than 54 mN/m. The invention relates to continuous ink jet printing of an aqueous pigmented ink composition recycled from a main ink supply reservoir, employing a printer with a drop ejector and a drop deflector and a non-printing drop catcher capable of returning unprinted ink to the fluid delivery system following the capture of non-printing drops. The pigmented ink jet ink compositions provide for particularly suitable fluid properties on the drop catcher face that minimize printing defects that can occur during drop deflection during the printing of high dynamic range images at high speed.

摘要: The present invention relates to the production of thin film epilayers of III–V and other compounds with acceptor doping wherein the acceptor thermally stabilizes the epilayer, stabilize the naturally incorporated native defect population and therewith maintain the epilayer's beneficial properties upon annealing among other advantageous effects. In particular, balanced doping in which the acceptor concentration is similar to (but does not exceed) the antisite defects in the as-grown material is shown to be particularly advantageous in providing thermal stability, high resistivity and ultrashort trapping times. In particular, MBE growth of LT-GaAs epilayers with balanced Be doping is described in detail. The growth conditions greatly enhance the materials reproducibility (that is, the yield in processed devices). Such growth techniques can be transferred to other III–V materials if the growth conditions are accurately reproduced. Materials produced herein also demonstrate advantages in reproducibility, reliability and radiation hardening.

摘要: Various embodiments are described to address the need for managing packet data network loading in a manner that is better tailored for wireless networking environments. Generally expressed, a network gateway (141) and a node (101) communicate to establish a packet data session. When conditions warrant, the network gateway sends a back-off message to the node that indicates a period of time for which the node is to suspend sending packet data to the network gateway for the packet data session and for which the node may suspend monitoring a data channel (112) for packet data from the network gateway for the packet data session. After the period of time (i.e., the back-off period) expires the network gateway and the node resume packet data exchange for the packet data session.

摘要: The invention provides an improved process in which minimal force is required to separate mold halves so as to minimize lens damages resulted from the forced separation of mold halves. The process of the invention comprises: providing a mold including a first mold half having a first molding surface and a second mold half having a second molding surface, wherein the first and second mold halves are configured to receive each other such that a mold cavity is formed between the first and second molding surfaces, wherein one of the first and second mold halves has a collar that encircles the other mold half to provide a seal between the two mold halves when the mold is closed; dispensing a specific amount of a polymerizable lens-forming material into one of the mold halves; mating the mold halves to close the mold; polymerizing said polymerizable material located between the two mold halves, thereby forming a molded contact lens; applying a small force to the collar to distort the collar, thereby breaking the seal between the two mold halves; and opening the mold.
