    摘要: The invention comprises methods and arrangements for Policy Decision Point discovery in a roaming or handover scenario in an IP network (IN) comprising a plurality of network elements. The authentication function, e.g. an AAA-server, receives the address (ASPDP1) of the serving Policy Decision Point (SPDP1) associated to the user equipment, and stores the address of the serving policy decision point together with the local address of the user equipment. The authentication function sends the address of the serving policy Decision Point to the Home Agent so that the Home Agent can forward the address of the serving policy decision point to the anchor Policy Decision Point and so that the anchor Policy Decision Point can contact the serving policy decision point by using said address of the serving Policy Decision Point.

    摘要: LAN emulation in a moving network environment is disclosed. An emulated LAN encompassing a number of moving networks is formed by means of a set of layer 2 tunnels that interconnect a home agent with mobile routers in the moving networks. The home agent and the mobile routers are arranged to perform layer 2 forwarding over the layer 2 tunnels in order to form the emulated LAN. The layer 2 tunnels can be established in a number of alternative ways. The moving networks that are part of the emulated LAN may move, i.e. change their points of attachment to the network infrastructure, in a dynamic fashion without disrupting the function of the emulated LAN.

    摘要: The present invention relates to moving networks in communication systems. An object of the invention is to provide moving network nodes (205, 206) in a moving network (201) with the ability to simultaneously access several external access networks (211, 212, 213) accessible by different mobile routers (204, 207) such that a data packet directed to an address external to the moving network can be sent from a moving network node via any of the mobile routers (204, 207) and via a tunnel setup in any of the simultaneously accessible external accesses to a home agent (216) in a home network (215) of the mobile router. This is achieved by synchronizing between the mobile routers data regarding the external accesses of each mobile router, and, when a data packet is received at a first mobile router (204), the first mobile router selects external access based on the synchronized external access information, information in the data packet and optionally also based on access selection policies. If a selected access belongs to e.g. a second mobile router (207), the packet is forwarded from the first mobile router to the second mobile router before it is sent to the home agent (215) via the tunnel setup through the selected access (211).

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method, a protocol and a control unit for managing devices in a Personal Area Network (PAN) such that a user of the PAN can use one of his devices and take advantage of services residing in any of the other devices in the PAN. The devices in the PAN are defined as either PAN controller devices or PAN auxiliary devices depending on if the devices have user interfaces suitable for controlling a PAN. When the PAN is managed according to the invention, the PAN controller devices and the PAN auxiliary devices communicate with each other via short-range communication means to exchange each other's PAN related information such that PAN related information is synchronized in the network. At least the PAN controller devices store received updated PAN related information from the other PAN participants such that the user can see an updated picture of the PAN on the PAN user interfaces. Any of the PAN controller devices can then be used to control the other PAN participants via commands and messages of the invention.

    摘要: An IPv6 mobile node is described herein that compresses a packet such that the compressed packet which includes an outer IP header, a compressed inner IP header and data can be sent within a bi-directional tunnel via one or more IP networks to a remote device (e.g., home agent, correspondent node, another mobile node). The IPv6 mobile node can also compress the outer IP header in the packet in addition to compressing the inner IP header if it is located in a wireless access network. The remote device can compress the packet in the same manner and send it to the IPv6 mobile node.

    摘要: A basic feature of the invention is to rely on an AAA infrastructure to “bootstrap” the HMIPv6 service for a mobile node (130) that “roams” in a visited network or the home network. In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, bootstrapping the HMIPv6 service involves authenticating and authorizing the mobile node (130) for HMIPv6 service based on an AAA infrastructure. In an important scenario, the mobile node is roaming in a visited network, and the AAA infrastructure (110, 120, 122) links the visited network with the home network of the mobile node. The invention also supports the possibility of having the MAP (125) located in the home network or other network than the visited network. The reliance on the AAA infrastructure preferably involves transferring HMIPv6-related information required for authenticating and authorizing the mobile node for HMIPv6 service over the AAA infrastructure.
