    Abstract: A video monitoring apparatus capable of efficiently superimposing additional information on a monitoring camera image is provided. The video monitoring apparatus holds image specifying information for specifying an image picked up by a camera and additional information in correspondence with each other. In superimposing additional information on an image, additional information corresponding to images having a distance therebetween falling within a prescribed range is searched for, and out of the thus found additional information, one that may be fit within an image currently picked up by the camera is superimposed on the camera image.

    Abstract: It is an object of this invention to detect a similar picture at high speed with high accuracy from a large-scale picture archive. Previously, a frame is extracted from each picture in a picture archive at fixed time intervals, an image feature quantity is extracted from each extracted frame, and the extracted image feature quantities are clustered, thereby constructing a clustered feature quantity database. A frames search section performs a similar frame search not only for a leading frame of a query picture but also for a subsequent frame, by using the database. A search result integration section checks whether there is a sequence across a plurality of search results and outputs, as a picture similar to the query picture, a segment which is confirmed to be continuous for a certain length or more.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a 3D model retrieval system designed to extract feature vectors of 3D models to retrieve a similar model. Image feature vectors are extracted by subjecting target 3D models to rendering from various directions by using a random rotation generator and a 2D image generator. Then, the image feature vectors are registered in an image feature vectors database. Image feature vectors are extracted by subjecting a query 3D model to rendering from various directions by using another random rotation generator and another 2D image generator. The image feature vectors are compared to the contents of the image feature vectors database, thereby retrieving a 3D model.
