    Abstract: A color diffusion transfer photographic element comprising (a) a light sensitive component containing at least one light sensitive silver halide emulsion layer associated with a dye releasing redox compound, (b) a dye image receiving component and (c) an alkaline processing composition component, wherein the improvement comprises at least one of said components (a), (b) and (c) containing a diffusible hydroquinone type compound having the half wave potential of polarography in the range of from -300 mV to -380 mV measured using a saturated calomel electrode as a reference electrode in a buffer solution having a pH of 13.0.degree. at 25.degree. The compounds aid in preventing the fading of dye images which are formed by development of color photographic light-sensitive materials as well as aiding in the prevention of discoloration of non-developed areas. The effects of the compounds are particularly noticeable when utilized in combination with magenta couplers or cyan couplers, and other antifading agents in an amount of 2 to 150% by weight based on the weight of the couplers.
