Abstract: A method for synthesising polymers through devulcanisation from waste containing elastomers, the method including: a) contacting the waste containing elastomers with a solvent in the presence of a devulcanisation agent, b) heating the mixture produced in step a), at a temperature of between 20° C. and 250° C. for a period of between 15 minutes and 24 hours in the presence of a devulcanisation agent, the concentration of devulcanisation agent, and the ratio between the concentration of devulcanisation agent, expressed as parts per hundred of elastomer (phr) and a volume of solvent, expressed in ml, is: greater than 0.3 phr/ml of solvent or less than 0.2 phr/ml of solvent when the method is carried out in air, greater than 0.06 phr/ml of solvent when the method is carried out in an inert atmosphere.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel biocompatible imaging particles comprising superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) assembled into submicromiter-sized clusters within a biodegradable polycathecolamine or polyserotonine matrix, their synthesis and use in imaging techniques. These particles overcome the issues of toxicity and unreliable signal of the molecules from the prior art by providing similar contrast to that of the microparticles of iron oxide and rapidly disassemble into isolated SPIO particles once they reach the acidic lysosomal compartment of the MPS cells, thus enabling their digestion. The present invention is thus directed to a particle having a hydrodynamic diameter comprised between 100 nm and 2000 nm, said particle comprising nanoparticles of iron oxide embedded within a matrix of polycathecolamine or polyserotonine, each of said nanoparticles of iron oxide being coated by a polymer which is different from polycathecolamine or polyserotonine

Abstract: The invention relates to neuroimaging techniques and more specifically to methods and systems for identifying and/or predicting the occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer's disease) or cognitive impairment in a subject, based on magnetic resonance images (MRI). Anatomical and functional MRI brain images are combined to build functional connectivity maps of one or more medial temporal lobe (MTL) subregions of the brain of a subject. Functional connectivity networks associated to the anterior temporal (AT) and posterior medial (PM) hippocampal network are then identified. A metric based on the degree of functional connectivity in both networks can be used as a tool to detect functional changes associated to cognitive decline caused by neurodegenerative diseases.

KPT is a Selective Inhibitor of Nuclear Export (SINE) that specifically inhibits the activity of the exportin-1 (XPO1). KPT-251 treatment induces minimal toxicity in non-cancerous hematopoietic cells both in vitro and in vivo. In particular, the present invention relates a method of treating systemic mastocytosis in patient in need thereof comprising administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of a XPO1 inhibitor.
