    Abstract: A hand-held laser device includes a casing formed with a substantially hollow interior space and having a laser emitter thereinside. The laser emitter is formed with an exciting lamp and a laser rod. A source generating a stream of gaseous coolant is provided within the interior space. A fluid cooling arrangement at least partially surrounding the laser rod is disposed within the stream of gaseous coolant for heat removal therefrom.

    Abstract: A laser surgical device for vaporization of a living tissue consists of an operating laser assembly, a detecting arrangement and a control unit. The operating laser assembly generates an operating beam having a predetermined wavelength corresponding to a peak absorption wavelength of water. The detecting arrangement is adopted for detecting a condition of an operated living tissue by receiving and reviewing a signal reflected from the operated living tissue so as to produce a control signal. The control unit controls characteristics of the operating beam based on the control signal, so that the depth of vaporization of the living tissue does not exceed 15-20 microns.

    Abstract: An apparatus for heat generation includes a vessel having a working chamber with a flow of working fluid passing therethrough. A source of pulsed light and a light-reflecting surface wettable by the working fluid are situated within the working chamber. A thermal energy is released into the working polar fluid by the pulsed light irradiation of the working fluid in the vicinity of the light-reflecting surface. The released thermal energy is continuously removed from the vessel by the flow of working fluid.
