摘要: The process for directly metallizing a circuit board having nonconductor surfaces, includes reacting the nonconductor surface with an alkaline permanganate solution to form manganese dioxide chemically adsorbed on the nonconductor surface; forming an aqueous solution of a weak acid and of pyrrole or a pyrrole derivative and soluble oligomers thereof; contacting the aqueous solution containing the pyrrole monomer and its oligomers with the nonconductor surface having the manganese dioxide adsorbed chemically thereon to deposit an adherent, electrically conducting, insoluble polymer product on the nonconductor surface; and directly electrodepositing metal on the nonconductor surface having the insoluble adherent polymer product formed thereon. The oligomers are advantageously formed in aqueous solution containing 0.1 to 200 g/l of the pyrrole monomer at a temperature between room temperature and the freezing point of the solution.

摘要: An electroplating apparatus and method is provided, whereby generally flat workpieces, such as metal plates and the like may be electroplated, on a continuous basis, automatically and without manual intervention. The workpieces are delivered horizontally through a bath of electrolyte. They are conveyed through the bath by being engaged by driven contact wheels that also serve as one of the electrodes. The other electrode is in the bath electrolyte solution. As the workpieces are delivered through the bath, they are engaged and disengaged by the contact wheels, but are always in engagement with contact wheels for not only continuous conveyance, but for continuous electrical connection therewith. A particular slide mount is provided for holding an opposite side of the plate as the plate is carried along its flow path, and this mount is adjustably positionable to accommodate different width workpieces. Solution flow through the electrolyte path is provided on a continuous basis, and both agitates and replenishes the electrolyte solution. Dams are created at ends of the flow path, by the action of squeezing rollers, to prevent passage of electrolyte. Wipers are provided for preventing the turbulence of newly-delivered electrolyte in the bath zone from immediately contacting the contact wheels. Other features are also provided.

摘要: A method of, and apparatus for, fabricating a bristle support or carrier for a brush, especially a hair brush, having pin-like bristles is disclosed. In a first method step there are produced the rows of bristle pins interconnected with one another at their rear end by means of a web. The individual bristle pin rows are retained in their position after forming the same to accomplish the next method step. In this next or second method step the bristle pins, at the region of their rear end, together with the webs, are cast in the material of the bristle support, so that the bristle pin rows are embedded in the bristle support.

摘要: An arrangement for the prevention of excess pressure in housings of shut-off valves with varying pressure loads, in which an independent chamber is provided with two facing openings. These are connected by pressure lines to pipe sockets connected to the shut-off valves. The facing openings are closed by seals which are, in turn, connected gas-tight by elastic elements. Another pressure line discharges into the chamber space located outside the elastic elements, and this pressure line is connected to the interior of the housing of the shut-off valves. The sealing elements which close the facing openings, brace each other through a spring, and the sealing elements are connected gas-tight by a bellows. A center section is located between the sealing elements. Through drill holes in the center section and in the sealing elements, the facing openings discharge into a space enclosed by the center section, the bellows and associated sealing element. The springs are located inside the bellows and brace themselves on a sealing element and on the center section. A single spring located outside the bellows, rests against the two sealing elements.

摘要: An apparatus for enhancing blood flow through a limb of a subject includes a compression sleeve extendable around the subject's limb and having a plurality of compressors situated next to one another along the sleeve. In use, the compressors compress the limb in sequence to move blood within the limb from one end of the sleeve to the other. In particular, as a said compressor begins to compress the limb, the compressor preceding it in sequence already compresses the limb, and the next preceding compressor in sequence ceases to compress the limb.
