A method and a device for the hydraulic actuation of a clutch operatively connected to a clutch receiver cylinder (6), especially for automobiles, are disclosed, in which, in a servo circuit (S), a servo pressure is generated, which serves for the hydraulic governing of a clutch transmitter cylinder (2), in order to generate in a pressure circuit (D) a working pressure, which is applied to the clutch receiver cylinder (6), or is applied directly to the clutch receiver cylinder (6), in order to create there a force required for disengaging the clutch. According to the invention, the servo pressure for disengaging and engaging the clutch is adjusted in defined manner in the servo circuit (S), for which purpose the servo circuit (S) comprises a proportional valve (8, 8'). As a result, with technical equipment at low cost, an automated actuation with improved response and operational behaviour of the clutch is made possible. Furthermore, a method and a device for gear-shifting a mechanical gear are disclosed, in which the servo pressure of the clutch disengagement is used for shifting the clutch sleeves of the mechanical gear.

A braking system is disclosed that has a manually-actuatable master cylinder having two pressure chambers. A first pressure chamber hydraulically controls a flow control valve through which the pressure medium flows during servo-braking in order to adjust its regulating cross-section to produce a defined dynamic pressure that is applied to a first piston/cylinder arrangement, connected to the flow control valve, of a brake application element to produce a braking force. A second pressure chamber can be connected to a second piston of a brake application element so that a braking force can be applied to the brake application element if the servo-force fails. Also, instead of the second piston/cylinder arrangement, a separate separator piston/cylinder arrangement can be provided that is inserted between the second pressure chamber and the piston/cylinder arrangement. As a result, sufficient braking force is produced both in servo-force braking and if the servo-force fails. Also, an appropriate response by the braking forces to the master cylinder is effected so that there is always good actuating feedback.

A valve apparatus for a non-muscular-energy-assisted brake circuit of a hydraulic brake system is disclosed. The apparatus has a restriction valve whose valve body in a controlled manner limits a restriction gap through which a hydraulic fluid is forced in non-muscular-energy-assisted braking operation in order to establish a defined dynamic pressure in a pressure chamber in which a valve plunger having a through-hole is provided. The dynamic pressure can be applied to a tensioner. If the non-muscular-energy assistance fails, the valve plunger can be closed to generate a residual braking pressure in the pressure chamber using the valve body when the through-hole is closed. Since the restriction gap is located at the through-hole, a very compact valve apparatus is created, in which the valve body not only limits the restriction gap but also serves as a sealing closure element for the through-hole and serves to directly control the valve plunger, while the brake pressure in the pressure chamber is present at all times directly at the valve body and therefore can be fed back in a desirable manner to the brake pedal.

According to the invention, the brake pressure pHRnominal in the brake circuit (RBKHR) for the rear wheel (HR) is determined according to the brake pressure pVRactual detected in the brake circuit (RBKVR) for the front wheel (VR)—taking an ideal brake power distribution characteristic stored in the control unit (94) as a basis—and is regulated for the rear wheel (HR) by means of the pressure modulator (RGVVR) in the wheel brake circuit (RBKHR). As a result, a method is provided which enables the best possible use of the grip between the tyres and the ground in an automated manner during a brake process. The invention also relates to a simply constructed brake system for carrying out the method.
