摘要: A battery is provided with a battery cover having a first cover mold insert and a second cover mold insert which are interchangeable in the cover prior to molding depending at least in part on the battery's polarity configuration. The first cover mold insert has a bushing that is relatively different in dimension, size and/or shape than the bushing of the second cover mold insert, such that each bushing is adapted to receive a cast-on-strap post of a relatively different dimension, size and/or shape. The first cover mold insert may also have a terminal that is relatively different in dimension, size and/or shape than the terminal of the second cover mold insert, such that each terminal is adapted to engage a formation connector contact of a relatively different dimension, size and/or shape.

摘要: An electrode for a lead acid battery is provided. The electrode includes a pasting material distributed on the electrode and arranged to provide uniform current density. A lead acid battery having a plurality of electrodes, each electrode having pasting material providing uniform current density across the electrodes is also provided. A method for manufacturing a battery electrode is also provided and includes applying a portion of the electrode with a pasting material providing uniform current density.

摘要: A battery electrode with a pasting textile, fabric, or scrim made with an electrode grid (e.g., a stamped grid or expanded metal grid) coated in battery electrode and covered with pasting textile formed of a bonded, non-woven fiber web. The web is formed from one or more fibers with an average length greater than 20 μm. In various embodiments, the web is formed from one or more spun, continuous fibers. The battery electrode may be made in a continuous process where multiple grids are formed in a single sheet, coated with electrode active material, and the scrim before being cut into individual electrodes.

摘要: Separators for use in batteries are disclosed. In various embodiments, the separators include one or more of raised shoulders, ribs in three or more sizes, thickened mini-ribs on shoulders, and ribs within the shoulder. The disclosed separators are more resistant to failure due to punctures or tears than conventional separators.

摘要: An improved vent cap system for use in an electrochemical battery is provided which includes a ring flange for forming a ring seal between the vent cap assembly and the fill tube. When the vent cap assembly is positioned in the battery housing, the ring flange and the fill tube deform to create a seal therebetween to provide a fluid tight seal.

摘要: A battery of the type having electrolyte therein, comprising a case defining at least one electrolyte containing cell, and a primary cover bonded to the case. The primary cover has a barrel extending into the electrolyte cell. A secondary cover is bonded to the primary cover top, and includes an aperture concentric with the primary cover barrel. A baffling plug is disposed in the secondary cover aperture and extends into the barrel. The baffling plug has a lid with a bottom, an inner tubular splash guard extending away from said lid bottom, an outer splash guard concentrically spaced from said inner tubular splash guard. A retaining member formed part of the plug base retains the plug in the aperture, and seals the aperture to prevent the escape of the electrolyte.

摘要: An apparatus for capturing data outputted by a data processing unit includes an interface unit for generating a strobe pulse for each data word outputted, a timer for measuring the elasped time between the occurrence of two consecutive data words and a DMA controller for storing the data words together with the elapsed time data words in a remote storage unit. A time-out circuit insures that the time measured is between the occurrence of the first and second data words of each pair of data words.

摘要: Novel hydantoin compounds are described of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein Ar is phenyl optionally substituted by up to three radicals selected from the group comprising C.sub.1-6 alkoxy, halogen, 1,3-dioxol-2-yl, hydroxy C.sub.1-4 alkoxy C.sub.1-4 alkyl, phenyl, hydroxyl, nitrile, C.sub.1-4 haloalkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 alkenyloxy, C.sub.1-4 alkoxycarbonyl or phenoxy optionally substituted by C.sub.1-4 haloalkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy or halogen;or is thiophene optionally substituted by phenyl or by one or two C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups;R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently hydrogen or taken together represent a chemical bond;R.sup.3 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl or C.sub.2-4 alkenyl; andR.sup.4 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.2-4 alkenyl, phenyl or benzyl;provided that R.sup.3 cannot be hydrogen when Ar is unsubstituted phenyl and R.sup.4 is n-butyl. The compounds are useful in the treatment of immediate hypersensitivity diseases including asthma.
