    摘要: A radially expandable core pin is disclosed for blow-molding a thermoplastic container having a body-portion and a neck-portion, with such neck-portion including a dispensing orifice and internal attachment means. The core pin is radially expandable to compression mold the internal attachment means of the container and comprises a plurality of circumferentially disposed core sections surrounding the central axis of the core pin. These core sections are radially movable between a normally collapsed position and an expanded position, and have outer surfaces which mate along their longitudinal adjacent sides when radially displaced to expanded position to form a substantially continuous neck-forming surface thereabout. The neck-forming surface is relieved in a predetermined pattern to form the internal attachment means of the container. The core pin also includes expansion means for moving the core sections to expanded position, and blowing means formed through the core pin and adapted to be connected to a pressure source. The blowing means provides blow-molding pressure for forming the body portion of the thermoplastic container.

    摘要: A paperboard laminate carbon for containing a liquid product. The innermost and outermost surfaces of the carton are coated with a polymer which is both liquid impermeable and heat sealable. One of the walls of the carton includes an aperture which is fitted with an improved one-piece plastic spout. The spout, prior to installation, includes one preformed flange which contacts one surface of the carton about an aperture in the carton wall. A truncated skirt having a maximum cross-section small enough to pass through the aperture in the carton wall without damaging either the skirt or the carton wall extends from one surface of the preformed flange. A second flange is formed from the truncated skirt after the skirt has been inserted through the aperture in the carton wall.Spout configurations which may be inserted from the exterior or the interior of the carton are disclosed. Because the flange which is formed from the truncated skirt exhibits a minimum cross-section greater than the maximum cross-section of the exterior portion of the spout, heat and pressure can be simultaneously applied to both the exterior and interior flanges in an area where the flanges coincide with one another without subjecting any other portions of the spout and/or resealable closure means to pressure. This permits easy and reliable simultaneous sealing of both flanges to the opposing surfaces of the carton wall in a single step.

    摘要: A collapsible tube package having a reclosable closure comprises a tubular body having a first open end and a second open end. It also comprises a tube head having an outer shoulder surface and a perimeter edge. The tube head is located just inside the first open end of the tubular body such that a continuous wall portion of the tubular body extends longitudinally beyond the perimeter edge of the tube head. The continuous wall portion is swaged against and ultrasonically welded to the outer shoulder surface. The second open end of the tubular body is flattened and sealed closed. The tube head has an energy concentration ring melted into a sealing interface between the continuous wall portion and the outer shoulder surface, and the tubular body and the tube head comprise just two individual parts made of weldable, non-polar plastics having no metal laminates and metal particles therein.

    摘要: A squeezebottle dispenser having an inner flexible bag containing a viscous fluid in fluid communication with a dispensing nozzle. A vent hole is provided in the squeezebottle side wall which is blocked by the user to prevent air from exiting the squeezebottle during squeezing so that air compression within the squeezebottle forces the inner bag to discharge its contents through the dispensing nozzle. When the squeezebottle is released, the vent hole is unblocked in order to vent air into the squeezebottle so that the squeezebottle may return to its unsqueezed shape. The vented air entering an air space located between the squeezebottle and the inner bag replaces the volume of the contents discharged from the inner bag. The addition of a recessed channel, formed between the vent hole and a venting point, which is covered with a compliant film to form an air passage, enables the user to block the vent hole indirectly. When the compliant film is pressed into and against the recessed channel anywhere along the air passage, air cannot escape from inside the squeezebottle, thereby enabling air compression to occur inside the squeezebottle.
