    Abstract: A power transmission apparatus comprising a pulley 1 and a hub 2 is disclosed. The hub 2 includes an inner hub 21 fixed on a rotary shaft 4 and an elastic member 23 coupled over a joint length L to the outer periphery of the inner hub 21. Elastic member 23 includes a hub-side engaging portion having a series of protrusions arranged in a ring and a cylindrical portion connecting the hub-side engaging portion and the inner hub. Pulley 1 has a pulley-side engaging portion having a series of depressions fitted on the hub-side engaging portion. The engagement between hub-side engaging portion 235 and pulley-side engaging portion 14 forms a torque transmission structure of hub 2 and pulley 1. An axial length TL of a torque transmission surface TS formed by hub-side engaging portion 235 and pulley-side engaging portion 14 in contact with each other is larger than joint length L between the cylindrical portion and inner hub 21. Axial length TL, when projected in the radial direction, is partially overlapped with joint length L.

    Abstract: A limiter device is provided in a variable displacement compressor capable of varying a discharge displacement per revolution and compressing a fluid in a cycle. The limiter device includes an operating characteristic acquiring means for acquiring a predetermined characteristic during a compression operation of the compressor, and a varying means for varying the discharge displacement of the compressor to a minimum side when the predetermined characteristic obtained by the operating characteristic acquiring means exceeds a predetermined value. Thus, the limiter device can prevent the compressor from being brought into trouble such as locking and can protect a driving belt and other auxiliary equipment on a side of an engine, while it is unnecessary to provide a pulley with a limiter function.

    Abstract: A coupling device has a pulley that receives rotational torque from an engine. The torque is transmitted to a shaft through a hub and a one-way clutch. A torque limiter is screwed on the shaft to fasten the inner ring of the one-way clutch onto the shaft. The torque limiter has a breakable portion. The torque is directly transmitted from the inner ring to the shaft when the torque is normal. If the torque exceeds the tightening torque of the torque limiter, the inner ring begins to slide and rotate, and drives the torque limiter in a tightening direction. As the torque limiter is tightened additionally, the tensile stress on the breakable portion is increased. Then, the breakable portion breaks and is separated in axial direction so that the coupling device disconnects torque transmission.

    Abstract: An electromagnetic clutch has an electromagnetic coil and a coil housing for accommodating the coil. The coil is inserted into the coil housing together with insulating members made of readily deformable insulating material. The insulating members are pressed downwardly by the coil and deformed according to an inner shape of the coil housing. As a result, the coil and the insulating members are accommodated in the coil housing with a preset gap between a surface of the coil and an inside surface of the coil housing, formed by the insulating members. The gap is filled with melted resin so that the coil is firmly secured in the coil housing. Thus, the coil can be readily secured in and insulated from the coil housing at a low cost.
