    摘要: A method is provided for purifying exhaust gas from an engine having an exhaust passage with a selective reducing catalyst and an oxidation catalyst upstream of the selective reducing catalyst. The method calculates an amount of NOx that flows into the selective reducing catalyst; sets an amount of an additive agent to be supplied to the selective reducing catalyst based on the calculated amount of NOx; determines a degradation degree of the oxidation catalyst; determines whether a correction to the amount of the additive agent is necessary based on the determined degradation degree of the oxidation catalyst; corrects the amount of the additive agent to be supplied when the correction is necessary; and supplies the additive agent to the selective reducing catalyst in the corrected amount if the amount is determined to be corrected and in the uncorrected amount if the amount is determined not to be corrected.

    摘要: An exhaust emission control system, which comprises control means 8 operable, in response to satisfaction of a given stop condition, to automatically stop an engine, and subsequently, in response to satisfaction of a given restart condition, to automatically restart the automatically stopped engine, a flow passage 6 adapted for an aqueous urea solution for reducing nitrogen oxides contained in exhaust gas of the engine, and supply/recovery means 7 adapted to drive a pump 10 to supply an aqueous urea solution to the flow passage and recover an aqueous urea solution from the flow passage. The control means is operable, when the engine is forcibly stopped by turning off an ignition switch, to instruct the supply/recovery means 7 to recover an aqueous urea solution from the flow passage 6, and, when automatically stopping the engine in response to satisfaction of the given stop condition, to prohibit the supply/recovery means 7 from recovering an aqueous urea solution from the flow passage 6.

A mechanically actuated cap applying head is mounted for vertically reciprocating movement so as to apply a downwardly directed capping force on the bottle. A hand manipulated dual position stop mechanism limits the downwardly directed capping force in one mode to accommodate semirigid containers and in the other mode removes the downward force restraint for capping glass bottles.

    摘要: A carburetor actuating system for two carburetors (5a, 5b) in V-shaped space (4) between two cylinders (2a, 2b) of a V-engine such that drafting directions of the respective carburetors are opposite to each other. One carburetor (5b) is controlled by a cable (16b) attached to an actuating arm (15b) connected to the valve stem (14b) protruding to the outside of the one carburetor (5b), i.e., in a direction away from the carburetor. The other carburetor (5a) is controlled by a driven arm (21a) connected to the valve stem (14a) protruding toward the carburetor (5b). The driven arm is actuated by a drive arm (21b) connected to the valve stem of the one carburetor (5a) through links (22a, 22b) hinged by a pin (24) constrained by a guide groove (28) to motion along a perpendicular bisector of a line passing through the axes of the valve stems (14a, 14b). The link (22a) for the driven arm (21a) is connected to it through a lever arm (21c) loosely connected to the valve stem (14a) adjusted in position relative to the driven arm by bolt (21e) to adjust the phase of the other carburetor (5a) relative to the one carburetor (5b) controlled by the cable (16b).
