摘要: The present invention relates to display devices and methods, recording media, and programs that allow moving images to be displayed with less double vision. An LCD 11 updates the display in the order of the columns or rows of pixels on the screen in units of column or row in each period of a frame. LED backlights 12-1 to 12-N illuminate the pixels of the LCD 11, respectively, so as to illuminate part of all the columns or rows on the screen. A display control section 31 controls the light emission of the LED backlights 12-1 to 12-N in a manner such that the LED backlights 12-1 to 12-N illuminate the pixels updated in sequence in each period of the frame. The invention can be applied to display devices.

摘要: Phase transition is controlled by controlling fractal dimension of a fractal-coupled structure overall or locally. For a magnetic material, ferromagnetic phase transition temperature of magnetic particles arranged to have self-similarity is controlled by fractal dimension. For a half-filled electron system confined in a treelike fractal, Mott transition is controlled by fractal dimension of the system. Stronger quantum chaos than conventional ones is generated by adding magnetic impurities to the fractal-coupled structure, and through this process, Anderson transition is controlled.

摘要: A projection screen comprises a red-reflecting particle layer, green-reflecting particle layer and blue-reflecting particle layer sequentially stacked on a substrate. In each particle layer, particles are accumulated by eleven cycles in a regularly alignment such as close packed structure. Diameter of red reflecting particles is approximately 280 nm, diameter of green-reflecting particles is approximately 235 nm, and diameter of blue-reflecting particles is approximately 212 nm. Each particles layer is accumulated by self-organized technique. The substrate used here can absorb light of wavelengths other than those of red, green and blue three primary colors.

摘要: An image processing apparatus capable of extracting widely viewed features of an entire image and speedily performing image processing, and a method and an information recording medium for such processing. Image data of an original image is obtained by imaging the entire original image with an image pickup unit at a time. An amplitude distribution of a signal is obtained from the image data by fast Fourier transform performed by a fast Fourier transform section of a signal processing unit. An amplitude replacement section replaces the amplitude distribution with a predetermined function using the distance from a center of a frequency plane as a parameter. An inverse fast Fourier transform section forms an image corresponding to the original image by inverse fast Fourier transform from a phase distribution of points obtained by the fast Fourier transform and from an amplitude distribution obtained by the above-described replacement.

摘要: The present invention relates to an imaging apparatus and an imaging method so as to be able to obtain disparity information, without deteriorating the image quality of the image.Incident light from a subject is made to be parallel light by a relay lens unit 33, part thereof is reflected by a transmissive mirror 35, and the remaining incident light transmits the transmissive mirror 35. An imaging device 39 performs photoelectric conversion on the incident light which has transmitted the transmissive mirror 35 and images a basic image, and an imaging device 40 performs photoelectric conversion on the incident light which has reflected off of the transmissive mirror 35 and images disparity detection images. A disparity image generating unit 44 replaces pixel values of each pixel on the disparity detection images into the pixel values on the pixels on the basic image corresponding to these pixels and generates right and left disparity images. In this way, if used high-quality basic image and disparity detection image having disparity information, high-quality disparity image pair with appropriate disparity can be obtained. The present invention can be applied to a camera.

摘要: An imaging method, a recording medium, and a program which are capable of processing imaging data of a high rate in a manner similar to that of a normal frame rate. Image data captured by a solid-state imaging element capable of performing imaging at a high resolution and a high frame rate is supplied to a memory control unit. The memory control unit, at the same time as writing the imaging data input from the imaging element in a frame memory, reads preceding frames of imaging data that are recorded on the frame memory, and sequentially respectively outputs them in parallel, as video image data items for each frame, to respective camera signal processing units. Then, in the camera signal processing units, a video output unit, a viewfinder output unit, codec units, and recording units, processing similar to that in the case of a frame rate that is ¼ the imaging frame rate is executed.
