Abstract:
Performance interface system includes a motion detector provided for movement with a performer, and a control system for receiving detection data transmitted from the motion detector and controlling a performance of a tone in response to the received detection data. State of a performer's motion is detected via a sensor of the motion detector, and detection data representative of the detected motion state is transmitted to the control system. The control system receives the detection data from the motion detector, analyzes the performer's motion on the basis of the detection data, and then controls a tone performance in accordance with the analyzed data. With this arrangement, the performer can readily take part in the tone performance in the control system. For example, as the performer moves his or her hand, leg or trunk while listening to a manual or automatic performance of a music piece being carried out by a performance apparatus of the control system, the motion detector detects the performer's motion and transmits corresponding detection data to the control system, which in turn variably controls a predetermined one of tonal factors in the music piece performance. This arrangement can readily provide interactive performance control and thereby allows an inexperienced or unskilled performer to take part in a performance with enjoyment.

Abstract:
There is provided a musical tone generation control system that, even if the player moves, enables him/her to listen to good musical tones at a location to which the player has moved without the necessity of making adjustments by himself/herself. Information on a position of a listener is detected. A plurality of speakers are provided for sounding musical tones corresponding to a musical tone signal supplied from said tone generator. The volume of musical tones to be sounded from the plurality of speakers according to the detected position.
Abstract:
A magnetic recording medium having a substrate made of aluminum or aluminum alloy and an anodic-oxide film, e.g., alumite film, formed by effecting the anodic oxidation process, wherein the surface of the alumite film has protruding portions formed in addition to micro-irregularities which are formed in response to the cell-pore structure of the alumite film and height of the protruding portions is higher than that of the micro-irregularity, and density of the protruding portions is ranging from 10.sup.2 to 10.sup.7 per one square millimeter, these protruding portions are formed by processing the alumite film in the fluorine-contained solution (e.g., hydrofluoric acid) or in solution containing one of the acid (HCl), base (NaOH) and strong-acid salt ((NH.sub.4)SO.sub.4), Cr film and magnetic film are sequentially formed on the alumite film by the sputtering process.

Abstract:
There is provided a musical tone control apparatus that enables a user to easily play a musical instrument without spoiling the user's feeling that he is actually playing a musical instrument. A storage device stores musical piece data containing interval data indicative of intervals of musical tones constituting a musical piece. A motion of an operator is detected. A controller provides control so as to instruct a musical tone output device capable of outputting musical tones to adopt the intervals as one of characteristic amounts relating to musical tones to be output from the musical tone output device, according to the interval data, and instruct the musical tone output device to adopt at least one of the characteristic amounts other than the intervals according to the detected motion of the operator.
Abstract:
A stereo sounding method which can provide realistic sounds such as stereo sounds for a large number of listeners while reducing the number of speakers. A stereo sounding system is comprised of a plurality of stereo sound sources, and a plurality of speakers. A smaller number of speakers than twice the number of the plurality of stereo sound sources are arranged, and an R-channel output from at least one stereo sound source among the plurality of stereo sound sources and an L-channel output from a stereo sound source other than the at least one stereo sound source are mixed, and the mixing result is output to at least one of the arranged speakers.
Abstract:
An automatic performance apparatus which enables expressive ensemble performance to be carried out with a sense of uniformity. Operation signals according to operation by at least one operator, and identification information for identifying a plurality of operating elements are output from these operating elements. Operation-related information indicative of the relationship between respective ones of the plurality of operating elements and respective ones of a plurality of channels, and the master-slave relationship between the plurality of operating elements are stored in a storage. When the operation signals and the identification information are output from the plurality of operating elements, the operation-related information is referred to determine corresponding ones of the channels to the identification information, a sounding event of a musical tone to be sounded next is read out from the performance data for each of the corresponding ones of the channels, and a sounding process on the readout sounding event is carried out by a sounding processing device. The sounding process is controlled such that the position of a sounding event corresponding to at least one of the operating elements as a slave never goes beyond the position of a sounding event corresponding to one of the operating elements as a master, which is to be processed next.
Abstract:
There is provided a musical tone generation control system which enables the user to obtain a feeling of operation as well as to obtain a feeling of satisfaction as if he or she were aggressively participating in performance or playback of a musical composition or the like. The musical tone generation control system has at least one operating terminal that can be carried by an operator. Each operating terminal detects a motion of the operating terminal caused by an operation of the operator, generates motion information based on the detected motion, and transmits the generated motion information to the musical tone generation control apparatus. A musical tone generation control apparatus including a tone generating apparatus that generates musical tones generates performance control information for controlling musical tones generated from the tone generating apparatus based on the received motion information, generates vibration control information based on the generated performance control information, and transmits the generated vibration control information to the operating terminal. The operating terminal generates a vibration corresponding to the received vibration control information.
