Disclosed is a framework that provides a method for testing device driver installation tasks which would otherwise have to be done manually using actual hardware. By providing the capability to dynamically create the appearance of many types of hardware devices installed on the system the need to have test machines with the actual hardware is eliminated. In one embodiment a driver handler object framework is implemented which can be used to simulate the presence of hardware devices and drivers. By using these drivers and test packages (or actual driver packages), testing can be accomplished without the large investment or requirement of additional hardware and software. The driver handler object framework also provides a set of methods, objects, and xml schema definitions that can be used with the pseudo device drivers to setup, install, verify, and clean-up the test systems in preparation and support of driver installations and updates.

Disclosed is a sleeve-type mortise-and-tenon joint structure unit, comprising: an externally wrapping pipe-type frame (1) and several internally supported pipe-type frames (2) disposed in the externally wrapping pipe-type frame. The externally wrapping pipe-type frame is provided with several openings (3). After some or all of the internally supported pipe-type frames are pulled out of an end part of the externally wrapping pipe-type frame, a vacant part (4) is formed in the externally wrapping pipe-type frame, and the openings and the vacant part form a mortise structure. Further disclosed are two applications of the sleeve-type mortise-and-tenon joint structure unit. The above-mentioned sleeve-type mortise-and-tenon joint structure unit has the advantages of requiring no nail or binder, a stable structure, rapid and convenient assembly and disassembly, durability, lightweightness, reusability, and environmental friendliness.

An MR sensor includes an MR layer and permanent magnets defining an active area on the MR layer. A bi-layer test structure is fabricated with a permanent magnet layer deposited on a substrate and an MR layer deposited on the permanent magnet layer. If desired, a SAL may be deposited prior to deposition of the permanent magnet layer. A DC magnetic field is applied to the bi-layer test structure, and the strength of the DC magnetic field is varied. During application of the DC magnetic field, the magnetic response of the bi-layer test structure is measured to determine a hysteresis loop of the bi-layer structure. The exchange coupling between the permanent magnet layer and the MR layer is characterized by a point of inflection identified on the measured hysteresis loop.
